I like the way you think!

Teezax did most of ours last year, and they were amazing!

The Kings have to make it first.

I'll probably find someone that can animate it for me anyways where it goes back and forth.

It doesn't have to be assigned or anything. Just whoever makes a bunch of them, post the links that we can copy and paste from.

I like the idea...

A good Richard's play: his first shootout goal vs. Calgary.
Carter: his five hole goal against the Bruins
Pitkanen: One of his many game tying or winning goals.

Not too sure of any standout plays for Umberger, im sure a nice Nitty save would suffice for him though.

Richards: His SHG 5 on 3 vs the Leafs OR the hit on Petrovicky (I think) on the Thrashers
Pitkanen: Crushing someone with a hit, we need that physical play in there
Niitty: SO game against the Flames save
Carter: Bruins one is good
Umberger: Last night's Florida goal would look good.

Alright, were all onboard..............who's the creative wizard here?
Sponsors like myself have a maximum avatar size of - 49.1kb or 125 x125 wichever is smaller.

Seeing as I started this thread, I would like a Gagne or Niittymaki avy.

Cheers and Happy St. Patty's Day eveyone!

EDIT - Avy's MUSY be animated though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be good if people posted any animations they have, i could give it a shot at putting them together but i only have the Richards hit on my comp.

I like the shootout goal aginst Calgary one, that's a solid nominee. For Carter though I'd pick the short handed goal against Washington where he picked off Ovechkin then deked the hell out of the goalie. For Pitkanen, maybe his game tying goal gainst Boston where Foppa tees him up for that amazing pass. Niitty made some nice saves in Calgary so one of those saves have my vote; they're good action shots. Umberger's best goal has already been mentioned. There are some of the best plays off the top of my head.

Can we take video files and then turn them into .GIF files via some software?

Yes you can but IMO it's a bit of a hassle.
If you only have it in video post that anyway, it's better then nothing.

What IMO is most needed is the "Youth Gone Wild" thing as an animation.

Umberger
Both Richards & Frank
Carter
Pitkanen

I have a RM converter if that would help at all.

I started an animated gif but it is 40k and hence twice the size permitted by this site.

My buddy at work is a design wizard, he created my current one in 10 mins, I have a big poster of it in my office, it is awesome. I am useless at this stuff, but let me see what he can come up with

can we break the 20kb limit if we host them all on some sort of external webspace?

Tried that. It would not let me even refer to a 40k image elsewhere. I guess they figure it slows down page load irrespective of where it is, or could be concerned with "bandwidth theft".

All the vids of youth are good, and animated is a must, but I think the most important thing is that it shows team unity and S.o.B theme.

ah ok. making an animated gif is pretty much out of the question if there is no way around a 20kb avatar. My vote is that someone good with photoshop should take 10-20 symbolic photos such as the orange crush, players, rocky, something like that, and put the same text over them all, then you can pick which one you want to use.

Don't we usually wait to make the avatars until we find out who we are playing in each round?

These are two I have from years past:
