Aebischer is a good one!

He let 5 goals in tonight but many of them wasn't his fault at all...he kept us in the game for 2 periods and in the 3rd, the team let him down...

I don't know if he will start this Saturday but he deserves it for sure...

Agreed. He kept us in it as long as he could.

Yeah, Abby played well. Too bad the team in front of him never showed up, or they went home after Dandy scored, one of the two.

I hope he gets the start against Pens...He deserves it. Tonights game was an embarassment. We did absolutely nothing to make his first game easy...

Agreed Totally, he was great, Sorry for those that says that he sucks cuz he let 5 goals but he was the one that kept us in the game. And we could see that he was mad at himself after the game... He didn't even come for the star.

He was solid. HIs lateral movements were slow, though.

SOME showed up. I love HIggins. Was solid tonight again.

On the other hand, Richard Zednik is a nuisance. As a minor hockey league coach, I call this guy a "peureux". TWICE, he didn't want to play the boards in his own zone when the puck was thrown towards him. Twice. It's a basic play that even atom BB players need to do. That means the guy doesn't want to be hit, simple as that. It turned into some giveaways. Because the guy is sloppy. He did not skate in the offensive zone. He refuses systematically to cut in front of the net when carrying the puck, preferring to glide on the perimeters.

Montreal has too many of these floaters.

That's true, esp. at the beginning of the game

Perhaps a little rust not having played in 8 days or maybe nervousness?

After all the talk from our defense about wanting to be solid infront of him... man. FAILURE.

He looked nervous to start but got better as the game went on. Score aside, and his incompetent teammates aside, he did play well and deserved better.

I saw one flaw with Aebisher and it was rebound control. The pucks were bouncing around everywhere.

People blame the D, but you should look at the wingers first. They were the ones missing the assignments, specially on the boards.

Carolina is a fast transition team. You cough up the puck in the neutral zone and you die. That's how they've been winning. Speed in the neutral zone. The only way to play them is to keep them IN their zone. And to do so, you dump and chase, forecheck with 2 guys very hard. Just like the Bonk-Murray-Bégin line did in the 1st.

It's the only way to play a fast transition team. Keep their D with their faces in the boards. That's exactly what Montreal did in the 1st and parts of the second.

But nooooooo. Then, Montreal forwards wanted to be fancy. And dropped gzillions of pucks in the neutral and defensive zones. As a result, bad coverage ensued and guys got called for defensive penalties. .

He looks to me like a 2003-04 Theo mixed with the no quit element of Roy.

I can't wait to see Aebi AFTER he's been with Melanson for a few months. Positioning has never been his strong suit, but we all know Melanson will help him with that. I believe he'll be a great goalie for us for years to come.

His butterfly style is way better than Theo. Plus, he rises up like Roy did.
