NHL.com article on Mark Parrish

http://www.nhl.com/columns/wigge/parrish031706.html

Nice article, kind of a fluff piece. Didn't really ask him any tough questions about faulty intelligence or name leaking.

He did say that he was happy to be back in the playoff race (even though LA is far from a lock at this point). Hey, so are we!

Anyway, if the Isles don't make it, it will be fun to watch him and LA.

Watching the way Parrish has been (mis)used in the last several games by our coaching staff has been painful.

He's been absolutely invisible since that St. Louis game in which he scored

How could he not have been expecting a trade when this was almost a foregone conclusion after Bates and Martinek were resigned? After he was traded even Joe Micheletti said the Islanders contacted his agent and got no response. If he intended to stay it does not hurt to have his agent return a call.

http://www.nhl.com/columns/wigge/parrish031706.html

"I kind of let it slip that I might some day want to go back to Minnesota," said a red-faced Parrish. "And it came out in the newspaper the next day like I was asking to be traded to the Wild. That's not what I intended at all."
Still, a trade did happen.

"Yeah," he said. "It's funny, but I've heard my name mentioned in trade rumors a lot before in the four-plus seasons I played with the Islanders and it never happened. This time, I really wasn't expecting it."

I'm sorry to hear that, and I think I speak for most Isles fans when I say that I hope Mark works out great for the Kings.
