If you want to play Orr, he has to be used as a offensive weapon, not a defensive one. You send him out there to mug Sundin or Kaberle or whoever, because his presence is not enough to keep Tucker from playing like Tucker, or Domi from doing the things that have kept Domi in the league for 1000+ games. Orr can fight, but it's not like he's Tyson circa 1986. These guys have all faced tougher customers in the past and have never been deterred. If you want Orr to be effective, let him go out and start taking liberties with the opposition and not just taking one shift a period to "scare" guys who have proved they just don't scare, period.

Thats a great point, but I don't see Orr as someone who CAN take liberty on other players.

Ward should be in for Betts. Let Ward play centre, Orr in for Hossa.

At this point of the season, I'm not sure he'd get much icetime down there either and I don't think he'd be eligible for the playoffs.

Guy's got a good head and maybe he can improve his skating sufficiently in the offseason to play more than 2-4 minutes.

If we want more toughness in the lineup why not use Strudwick as a forward? Just a question.

And that is why he hasn't gotten in many games this year. He is just not ready to be a full time player. If his skating and endurance come around, maybe next year, he will be stapled to the fourth line.

McCabe's a forward who's paid by fantasy hockey leagues to stay on defense so people can draft a defenseman that gets points.

Anyway, Leaf's, we should beat 'em, shouldn't be too hard.

I'm not sure why Strudwick wouldn't be a lock for a fourth line forward in the playoffs. He'd be much more valuable than a Hossa or Orr with the ability to play D if someone goes down.

Straka-Nylander-Jagr
Rucinsky-Ruccin-Sykora
Prucha-Moore-Ward
Strudwick-Betts-Ortmeyer/Hollweg
Hossa

My hatred for the Leafs fuels this game even more for me...

LETS GO RANGERS

Lets hope Renney re-inserts Ward.... IMO Orr should be on the bench tonight..

What do you guys think the lines will be with Rucinsky out again today? I hope Prucha is on the top line with Jagr and Nylander again.

That's like saying Dale Purinton will win the Norris next year.. it will never happen with this team... Thank God for our stellar PK.

obviously it won't happen... but there are degrees of effort and discipline to which players can perform. every player is responsible for his stick... agree with you on the stellar PK.. saved the Rangers' @ss a couple of times this season.

I dont like Hossa or Orr. Hossa is such a tease, he does something good like jumping a play and getting a break away, but then he follows it up with something bad, like missing the net completely. Lets play Strudwick at forward tonight

I would play like this:

Prucha-Nylander-Jagr
Straka-Rucchin-Sykora
Hossa-Betts-Ward
Hollweg-Moore-Ortmeyer

Orr limits playing time of the fourth line. Pass.

We had best play better hockey than we did against Caps. Leafs are a desperate team.

Play Ward over Hossa and Hollweg over Orr tonight. Toronto will play their game no matter who NY has in the line-up. NY needs to stick to their game and start beating teams and gaining points.

sorry for an offtopic but i wanted to make it clear for myself. Is this Orr yall talking about related to the legendary Orr who played way back then in Boston if i recall correct?

P.S. and btw by signing Ozo NYR now have support of all the hockey fans in Latvia, were all watching closely to Rangers games and will cheer with you guys. Majority here were happy to see OZO joining Rangers. Ill drink one to NYR success!!!

On February 10th when Toronto played New York, Belak-Domi-Tucker-McCabe were all in the lineup, but Orr was not. The next day when they played again Orr was inserted into the lineup, but it proved to be a bit useless as Belak did not suit up. Tonight Belak-Domi-Ondrus-Tucker-McCabe-Richardson will all be playing, so I think it's a safe bet Orr will be there, just in case.

Good luck tonight! Looking forward to the Swedish battle in bet.

You would think so, but these Rangers aren't like the Rangers of old. We haven't inserted Orr for a fiesty game all season, most of the time he was in to give someone a rest.

Upstaters, my cable guide says Leafs-Rangers, but Buffalo isn't playing on OLN, so I guess we'll be listening to the radio again.

I'm out of town and just saw the nhl.com hilights of the caps game from the other night. Lundqvist had to make some great saves for us to beat a bad team and we're still not scoring 5 on 5 goals. Hope we play a better game tonight. Good to see Ozo get one and Jagr make some highlight reels. Prucha + Malik = breaking the losing streak. No suprise to me that we won.

let's git r done tonight.
