You think so?

I don't know what is wrong with him but his passing and stickhandling ability aren't at the level they used to be. We can't afford to have a team full of struggling players at this state of season. Why doesn't he shoot more often? He has no confidence in his shot but it doesn't matter, you never know what can happen when you get it to the net.

His weak little body couldn't handle the NHL and the Olympics and that's why we're seeing what we are now. Nothing more than that.

It's called a "slump", it affects all professional athletes from time to time. Although we shouldn't let that stop us from engaging in the chicken little routine that is de rigueur around here of late.

I'm biased by absolutely worshipping the ground that the mighty Koivu's blessed feet tread upon, but...

I thought he played really well against the Isles. Made some great passes and setups, play his usual tenacious game physically.

My knocks (mild as they are) against Koivu are:
a) too much nice passing... once in a while a shot would be more appropriate
b) too many bad defensive zone penalties

But he's still consistently our best forward pretty much every game. He needs somebody to start finishing his plays. Higgins isn't a natural, and Ryder has been snakebit, but Koivu is doing his usual job of setting them up. Just the end results aren't there. (Not that I'm blaming Higgins or Ryder for it either... the former just isn't a scorer, and the latter... well, mid-level scorers are traditionally very streaky, and I don't really hold it against Ryder that he's fitting that stereotype).

He's not the only one(he's far from the worst) but he's to go to guy...

The team will go as far as Saku can carry them, and the way he's playing right now, it's not surprising we are playing like crap.

The teams stop winning in November when Saku lost it. He founded it back in the Olympics..

There's just no spark in his game.
