Helmets

What kind of helmet do you use? I used a bulky Itech but I just ordered a new CCM HT500. At least I'll look like a pro!

For facemask I use a cat's eye old school faceguard. Hey it's better than nothing.

Uhh, err...uhh, I'm usin' some sorta Itech. I got it like...five years ago. It's some sort of model number. I have an orange sticker on the back of it that says "Italian Sub". It came from Arbys.

I am not Italian.

Bauer 5000 with Itech FX-50 (lexan visor, plus wire) cage. Nice cage, but heavy - pulls helmet downwards towards your chin. The lexan fogs up, too! Grrrr.

Didn't expect this much Bauer heads, thought CCM would be king, at least in the early rounds.

Why Bauer domes?

I use a Rbk 8K helmet. With one of the newer Itech visors.

Very comfortable and plenty of protection.

I wear Bauer because I've had issues with the CCMs. First, the pads get hard as a rock after you wear them a couple of months. My Bauer helmets don't seem to have that problem. Second, the adjustment screws always rust. Bauer uses stainless. That's enough for me.

What he said. A couple months after the pads got hard they started falling out as well. The CCM helmet fit my hairy noggin fine though, my Itech's a bit tight.

Bauer 5000. The most comfortable helmet I've worn. Used to use the 4000 until it broke when I got hit into the glass.

Had a Bauer 3000 with an Itech HLC visor...it was ok. But I just bought a Jofa 690 with a Itech visor/cage combo. I love the fit, dunno why it took me so long to get a new helmet.

I have a Bauer 8000 with the Bauer 8000 facemask. It's pretty comfortable for the most part, and it protects my head well.

CCM 852 that doesn't quite fit my noodle, but it's comfortable enough, and gives me enough protection. I like the looks of it.

No cage or visor (although i have 4 visors).
