To answer Singin's question...I think it's easier to insert a couple rookies into a team that's been a constant winner the past several season, and who has the appropriate franchise cornerstones (goalie, defensemen, forwards, coach, system) than a team who hasn't won, is fragile, has not had good coaching in 10 years, and whose fan base is fickled in an area of the world where there's so much more to do than pay $100 to watch a hockey game.
