Every Ranger fan on this board knows EXACTLY what we got for Leetch, and know that Korpikoski, Sauer and Immonen all could be important pieces in the future of this team. And next year, at this time, when players like Immonen are playing well, we the fans should feel fortunate when someone like Emerick can educate us all about the Leetch deal again.

Perhaps that's material for a new Henrik Lundqvist quote.

"Henrik Lundqvist once left the ice for a 5 minute bathroom break during a 3 on 5 PK. The opponents still couldn't score, because the goal was too afraid of Henke's rage if letting in any pucks."

Yeah, Emmerick is way overrated IMO. When watching the Isles/Lighting game the other night I was convinced Chico Resch is mentally ********. Needs to work on his timing and "color guy puns." Laughable man.

Anybody miss Strudwick?

I love Ozolinsh, but it's obvious our defensive zone play has been erratic with him back there instead of Strudwick.

some comments

ill start with ozo since its the first post i read.... guy has great offensive instincts but wow, he makes poti look good on D.. really don't like the look of this once he hits a slump or something

poti has taken it hard from me everytime and ive never seen him live do good, tonight was different, he kicked major ***, was very physical, ill give him props

lundqvist is the effin man

prucha, damn how can you not love this kid?

hossa wasn't invisible and looked pretty good

hollweg makes such a difference, he gives us that physical game

can't think of much else but this team is really good and is better everytime i see them

I thought Poti dropped the ball a bit on the Gill goal, but Ozo was behind the net instead of on the far post. If he doesn't take the long way around after trying that poor clear, he's probably in a position to swipe the puck away from Gill.

That's what you get for a 3rd rounder.

If you had to decide, who would you sit, Hossa or Hollweg?

Sounds to me like everyone is saying Hossa, and because I don't get to see all too many games I can't really formulate my own opinion. It really is a shame though because Hossa FINALLY seems to be getting on track. I'm sure that in any case Renney would rotate them in and out so that netiher sits for too long a stretch at one time.

I applaud the fans of MSG and the Rangers for thier reception of Brian Leetch.

It was very heart warming to watch!

if hossa could just get on the scoresheet, he'd be a valuable player. he's playing hard now and uses his body effectively in the offensive zone to shield the puck and try to set up plays. his offensive instincts just don't quite look like they're there yet though. maybe they'll come with some more work, but who knows...

looks like the coaches think enough of his defense that they didn't mind putting him on the PK though, and he did pretty well.

Ozo is the worst defensive player (not only a defenseman) that I've seen this year. He's looks kinda clueless and uncomfortable in his zone. Hence a -3 (or is it a -4 after the Gill goal now?). But he's got 6 points in 6 games. He has weakened our team and improved it at the same time. It's a wash.

Ozo is probably going to be a minus guy because he gets a ton of his points in PP situations. That and he plays defense like Hellen Keller.

One note from the game:

OLN is awful. Everything was bad. Them cutting away as soon as the final buzzer sounded (we didnt get to see Leetch skate off)...the graphics they posted on the TV's were sometimes in 6 pt. font...just awful....

Great game though!
