Still want them to prove me wrong because we all know..

But I think we can do this

I usually take a walk in the neighborhood during intermission and in the past two games I've taken a slightly different route than I usually take. I will be walking this route again tonight.

It's literal insanity.

I become OCD. I notice all kinds of things I normally do, if I almost change something on accident I go out of my way to correct it to keep it the same.

Crazy how if we lose this game we'll need to change our core and fire our coach but if we win, everything is dandy. It's just one game.

That's why narratives and sports are stupid.

Good luck tonight, y'all. Hope we face you next round — I'd rather see a team I like and respect in the Cup Finals than the ****ing Penguins, so if it can't be us, I hope it's you.

All playoffs last season I did a beer a period, had to workout alot more and it didn't work out well. Went healthy this year and started doing seltzer this season. Been crushing seltzers like crazy. This morning I went and grabbed a 12 pack.

It's only weird if it doesn't work

What would we do without sports? Roll dice and fit narratives to them.

Russian dice are known to choke while Canadian dice always raise their game for the playoffs.

Lucky to have been very busy this week at work and at home otherwise I'd have too much time to think about these things.

As it is, I believe moving Ovie to the 3rd line kind of woke up something in a lot of the support players. For one it instilled confidence in Trotz as a person and a coach who doesn't play favorites. There is plenty of room (and NEED) for these guys to step up. For another it probably shook them into awareness that their #1 star/captain/leader is running out of time so they'd better get the job done.

If everyone played the same way the change probably wouldn't make much difference tactically. But the effect it's had on their attitudes makes it a magic move.

Maybe.

But to me the Caps have been the better team from the drop of the puck in game 1 and have consistently sent a barrage Pittsburgh's way.

Pitt early on just managed to score on a high percentage of their chances and got unreal goaltending and shot blocking.

Simply regression to the mean.

Last game you add in the physical dominance and all those blocked shots that were catching up to Pitt.

The Rope A Dope can only work so long.

We always say that before the series. Then we lose all respect for each other during it.

Caps are at a -195 tonight according to some sportsbooks.

The books are panicking and are begging people to bet on the Pens at this point.

Caps are at +1.5 goals straight up. The betting public is all over the Caps and not just b/c of last game I think.

Its been utter domination all series and now the Pens players are scared of getting hit.

Murray is still out correct? Reading the pens board and they are calling for him to start.

It does feel different this time. Anything can happen but for the first time out of all the times the caps have played the pens they LOOK like the much better team. Arguments could be made for last year and our offense was better in 09. Hope they just continue the dominance 3 more periods

This is true and I have watched every game of every Pens Caps series ever.

In 92 perhaps that was one year where we were better and that was debatable since Pitt didn't lose another game after they beat us (I think?)

This is Montreal level of territorial control

Murray is skating this morning with the team. No clue how significant that is.

Fleury has been their best player by far and away. Last time we played Murray we scored 7 goals on him (lost that game but still)

I want to believe but the optimism has been beaten out of me over the years.

My friends, don't let them suck you back in. You know they are just waiting to deliver the most painful way to lose a series.

I was convinced that they'd lose in 6, shocked that they forced a game 7.

The streak must go on!
