Yeah I know the reasoning but it makes sense and at least they have a mindset and are rolling with it

Anyone know if they still let players pick the warmup playlist? I remember at one time they would put on the jumbotron who made the playlist for them before the game. Joel Ward always made some good lists.

As for RTT, I have no problem with it. And Thunderstruck must stay.

Guesses for how many times the Duck Hunt sounds are played each game?

Run This Town is our goal playoff song. It gets me amped every single time. Brings back good, bad and ugly memories. There isn't a song that could get me more jacked.

I completely missed that! I knew a player did it, even had a general idea who the usual players were, but never saw it on the jumbotron.

Duck hunt sounds--Way too many, probably. Not very original, IMO.

I think some Duck Soup quotes might be fun. Photoshop Ducks heads onto the Marx Brothers characters:

Rufus T. Firefly: (Randy Carlyle) Awfully decent of you to drop in today. Do you realize our army is facing disastrous defeat? What do you intend to do about it?

Chicolini: (Corey Perry maybe?)I've done it already.

Rufus T. Firefly: You've done what?

Chicolini: I've changed to the other side.

Love that song too, that was the main song for the Minor League team I followed in the olden days. Great song!

I'm going to put this here instead of making a thread but I've been thinking of an idea for a while now. What if when we score a goal, we do what a lot of European soccer clubs do and Paul announces the first name and then the crowd chants the last name.

Paul: Nashville Predators goal scored by #9 Flilip
Crowd: FORSBERG
Paul: Filip
Crowd: FORSBERG
Paul: Filip
Crowd: FORSBERG
Paul: Assited by #92 Ryan Johansen and #59 Roman Josi. That's Forsberg from Johansen and Josi at 3:49.

Personally, I think we have enough chanting. Leave it like it is.

I like the concept it jumbo. But the problem is when you have two players on the team with same first name, like Johansen and Ellis. It's possible the crowd gets it wrong if they are both on the ice when a goal is scored lol.

Well Paul says their number first and then you flash the player on the megatron.

Lets just go back to the left side of the arena yells: "Get" and the right side yells back: "Bit". Repeat 6 or 7 times. They must still have the old cheer-leading signs in a back closet somewhere in the arena.

God I hated that cheer. Glad it died before we starting making the playoffs.

There better be a video tribute to the ex anthem singer, I don't want him throwing a hissy fit.

We still laugh about that one.

How far we've come.

They'd never do it for obvious reasons, but the new hype song should be m.A.A.d. City by Kendrick Lamar.

New York Times kinda brought this up today....

Quote:
About two hours before games, 50 or so people would gather in a classroom theater across from the arena to volley questions at Crisp and Weber. Crisp wishes he had written a book about it.

.....

Crisp and Weber made those sessions fun, because hockey is supposed to be fun.

They counseled fans not to worry about the rules, or anything else. Just enjoy yourselves, they said. They used the phrase “Get bit” — by hockey. If fans attended a game and wanted further clarification, they could pay a nominal deposit for headphones that connected them to an internal broadcast explaining on-ice situations as they developed.

How cool would it be if they still did those classrooms but did actually do more "PHD" level stuff? I'd love to sit with those guys and talk the science behind play calls, matchups, etc.

Sounds like a big distraction. Game ops needs to not take away from fans and game.
