Will do Steve and thanks. He's turned out to be a fine young man despite his upbringing

Hopefully in a few years you'll see him in the cockpit of your commercial flight.

My dog decaptitated and pulled off one wing from her stuffed duck last season. Tonight that raggedy old toy gets pulled out of the closet for total destruction. Sick 'em.

Apparently the crowd may be even later arriving than people think. On top of heavy rush hour traffic, there's an Angels game tonight as well and they play right nearby so that'll probably bottle things up even more.

I'm certain that very few will be late. They'll just work a half day or leave a couple hours early. I'd love to see a mostly empty arena to start, but I really don't think it will be a factor.

Ducks fans do not share your optimism

Nope. SoCal people have a much too inflated sense of self to be at all concerned about getting to a hockey game on time. Source: I'm a SoCal native who is much happier living in Nashville than I ever was in L.A. for that very reason.

Diehard fans will show up on time, but their stable of diehards isn't that large. Many people will be going simply because it's an event to be seen at. The game is almost secondary despite being the playoffs. I'm not saying this applies to the entire arena, but it definitely applies to a sizeable percentage. I'll bet it's somewhere between 1/2 - 3/4 full at puck drop.

Not sure if anyone caught it but the NBC announcers were calling the Anaheim fans out in game 7 on Wednesday. They then went on to say how much better the atmosphere in Nashville was, even for our games 3 and 4. With 5-10 min left in the 3rd and their team up the fans were barely cheering or standing. They would make a little noise when the puck was in the Oilers end up go quiet the rest of the time. I know we have something special at Bridgestone but that was a little shocking considering it was game 7.

I've been to a playoff game in Anaheim against us back in 2011. It was fine. Nothing bad but kinda similar to a Saturday regular season game here.

No Craig Smith for warm-ups, but luckily Vernon Fiddler is out there

(Aberg too)

Ducks have apparently been painting their wins in orange. They painted the 9th win already, hope the hockey gods use that for us

Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson
Wilson-Fisher-Aberg
Sissons-Jarnkrok-Neal
McLeod-Fiddler-Watson

Fiddler is playing. Good news is Aberg is back. Not too keen on those lines would flip Neal and Aberg but we'll see how it goes as I think they are trying to get Neal away from Getzlaf line or have the Fisher line against their 3rd line.

That 4th line is ugly again and the 3rd line doesn't look too hot either considering Jarnkrok is a poor passer. Hopefully the D-men pot a couple of goals tonight.

Remember, if things start slowly, Lavy can always sacrifice a goat (Fiddler) during intermission. It'll be okay.

Smith injury is so frustrating- play in a game, have almost 5 days off- now out again?

Uggghhhh
