Dipsy was online yesterday but still no pick. Feels a bit bad waiting this long for just one guy. Should probably just've given him double the time (16 hours) or something like that instead of waiting all the way until tuesday just to auto him. Oh well...

Why is the click stopped over the weekend?

At this rate we should cut it to 3 rounds

Because fantasy hockey isn't prevalent for people camping and drinking their faces off.

Removing the clock for the long weekend will hopefully minimize autos.

I wouldn't be opposed with picking past him and he can make his selection upon returning.

Lol... that throws the whole draft off. Disappointing for the momentum of the draft for sure....Dipsy has logged on every day of the long weekend with no pick, but the rules are clear that the clock is stopped. I'm with Zaddy though, for future drafts, stopping the clock all long weekend is too much. In fact, with today's technology, stopping it at all is too much in my opinion.

Yeah, there's a grim realization setting in that we're going to go to 12:32PM on Tuesday and have to autopick this.

There will be an immediate vacancy in Florida if this pick gets autopicked.

I'd just re-draw from those that wanted a 2nd team and didn't get it.

Definitely understand the logic behind stopping the timer, but if they've been online daily and havent picked...

Sorry for letting the forum down guys had a rough weekend mentally and totally forgot about this in those short instances I had time to check hf. But without any further ado, the Florida Panthers are proud to select: Owen Tippett from the Mississauga Steelheads!

With the 14th overall section, the Lightning are pleased to Select, from Timra of the Allsvenskan league in Sweden Forward Elias Pettersson

Quote:
A crafty and agile two-way forward, Pettersson is consistently productive in all three zones. As he gets stronger, he'll become even more physical and aggressive than he is now, and his creativity could definitely elevate his game to dominant levels. He can be described as a tenacious, jack-of-all-trades kind of player; he is well versed in all the important aspects of his own game. His speed and top-end acceleration continue to improve game by game, and his hard-nosedness shows through in his dogged pursuit of puck control. Elias Pettersson is a complete hockey player with exceptional hockey sense who brings intellect and youthful exuberance to a game that feeds on his kind of exciting athleticism. [EP]

Take the scorey wing Eeli Tolvanen.

He is undersized by traditional NHL standards but he is committed to play for Boston College in his post draft year where he can hit the gym to add some size and strength. His fantasy upside is among the top of his draft class.

The San Jose Sharks organization would like to extend a huge thank you to Soli for all the preparation and hard work that goes into a draft like this, and an even bigger thank you for putting up with all of HFOil's impatience.

Without further adieu, the are proud to select from the Ontario Hockey League's Mississauga Steelheads, D Nicolas Hague.

The select Klim Kostin.

I wasn't really looking to pick up a winger, but with having another 1st rounder in a few picks, it seems worth it to take another Tarasenko-esque gamble.

Well, did I ever have a decision to make. I considered about 5 players seriously for this pick, but ultimately I sat down and really thought about who I thought the best player remaining was - who I had seen the most often with my own eyes, and who I thought I could really see filling a huge void for this team going forward.

With these things in mind, the Edmonton Oilers are very pleased to select - from the Spokane Chiefs, right shot C/RW Kailer Yamamoto.

Yamamoto's most common draft comparables are Johnny Gaudreau and Tyler Johnson, and is praised for his lethal shot, offensive IQ, playmaking, skating, and even strength production - indeed, Yamamoto is one of the best even strength point producers available in the entire draft. He had 30% more points than the next best player on his team, and produced better at even strength than both Hischier and Patrick. This kid is a gamer.

In my viewings of him, and in reading scouting reports about him, things that kept coming up were 'plays bigger than his size, feisty forechecker, not afraid of the dirty areas'. Honestly this kid reminds me of a cross between a Gaudreau and a Gallagher.

I believe that the Oilers have the size, meat, and snarl in the lineup now, but I feel like the skill needs to be beefed up as well. That's where Yamamoto comes in. I believe he will prove a quality asset (and Eberle replacement) in the coming years.

Commence the yelling - my body is ready.
