I doubt it. The "automatic" penalty isn't quite so automatic. Doan and Gretz got spared on the first occurence. I think Tucker and Quinn will be as well.
This wasn't a case of a coach putting an enforcer on the ice to start somehting in any case.
Well Im glad gainey is the coach, he has a great lineup going. I guess bullis is not needed right now. Begin and bonk(the two i talked about sitting in favour of bullis) played great games(did they read my threads?)

Not gonna deny that the Leafs suck this year. We have some serious problems...pretty much everything from GM to Coach to Defence probably even to Carlton the Bear rofl jk about that one. Its not that Montreal is all that better. The series was split 4-4 so. You guys are still fighting for a playoff spot and it would be nice if you made it but its gonna be a dog fight til the end. I didn't watch the 3rd period tonight so I can't comment on the hit on Tucker, or what Tucker gave. I'm not even sure myself. Good luck all the way guys, I don't think I could bring myself to root for ya in say the Stanley Cup finals but I hope you do well

Kovalev did not play a great game but he gave all of us vicarious pleasure by dumping that little sh--.
Darcy Tucker is a piece of ! If Kovalev gets a 1 or 2 game suspension (he shouldn't, but...) it was still worth it. Tucker runs around constantly making questionable hits and even took a cheap shot at Kovalev seconds before Kovalev decided to stand up for himself. If Tucker is gonna run his mouth and take shots at people he should know he's gonna be a target. I have a new found respect for Kovalev after that move. I'm just a little disappointed that he didn't break Tucker's nose!
Wow, that was cathartic. I can't remember the last time the Habs played such a nasty, bitter game. For years, the Leafs would slap the Habs around in any game that mattered. The Habs were practically defenceless because there was no one to hit or fight.
That Kovalev move was priceless. There are so few players who can punish people while carrying the puck. I even liked Komisarek's dirty penalty, and Rivet's assault on Sundin was very gratifying. In any other year, Domi or Belak or whatever goon would have already baited Rivet into a useless fighting major, and Sundin would wander around as he pleased. Not this time.
It was the kind of series that a playoff team has to win. It's one thing to be able to outscore your opponents, it's another to be able to stand up to them in a physical contest. For the first time in years, the Habs were able to do both against a team styled on intimidation and cheap shots.
