Bear has just killed it these last two years.

I'm really hoping he'll show a really well at the AHL level next year and we end up having a real prospect. Ditto to all with Caleb Jones too.

Alexander True scored 12:36 into OT to make the Seattle Thunderbirds Ed Chynoweth champions and put them into the Memorial Cup with a 4-3 victory to take the series 4-2. The TBirds overcame a 3-1 deficit with 2 goals by Ryan Gropp and Keegan Kolesar in the last 5:22 of the third period. Sami Moilanen had the other Seattle goal while Sam Steel, Josh Mahura and Austin Wagner got the Regina goals. Carl Stankowski made 28 saves for the win while Tyler Brown tried his best, turning aside 39 of 43 shots.

Ethan Bear had 2 assists and was +2.

Seattle will take on the Erie Otters on Saturday night in their opening game of the Memorial Cup.

Thought I was done watching hockey after the Oilers were eliminated, but I can't wait for the Memorial Cup now!

I'm very curious to see how Seattle does in the Memorial Cup, especially Bear. Erie, Saint John and Windsor all loaded up at the trade deadline whereas Seattle made a couple of minor trades for Austin Strand and Aaron Hyman. For whatever reason WHL teams don't go quite as crazy as the OHL and QMJHL, the last team to do that was Kelowna in 2015 and even than our management was meddling with Draisaitl.

We picked up a couple of D in Strand and Hyman. Offense was extremely deep, didn't really need to do anything there.

Windsor came off a 44 day break to edge Saint John 3-2. The Spitfires had a 3-0 lead until late in the third and had to hold on for the win. Jeremiah Addison, Jeremy Bracco and Aaron Luchuk got the Windsor goals while Thomas Chabot and Nathan Noel scored for the Sea Dogs. Both Michael DiPietro and Callum Booth made 20 saves as Windsor outshot Saint John 23-22. Windsor was 1/5 and Saint John 1/4 on the PP.

Dylan Strome scored early in the third to break a 2-2 tie and lead Erie to a 4-2 win over Seattle. Alex Debrincat (PP), Jordan Sambrook and Christian Girhiny, with an empty netter, also scored for the Otters, while Scott Eansor and Austin Strand got the Thunderbird goals. Troy Timpano had 18 saves while Carl Stankowski had 31 saves. Shots were 35-20 for Erie. Erie was 1/3 on the PP while Seattle was 0/2. Erie led the FOW by a 37-28 margin.

Ethan Bear had no points, had no SOG and was +1.

Windsor scored early and often as they beat up on Seattle 7-1. Graham Knott, Julius Nattinen and Logan Brown scored in a 38 second span 5:26 into the game, which meant the end of Carl Stankowski's night. Nayyinen and Knott got second helpings later on while Jeremiah Addison and Jeremy Bracco added to the score. Keegan Kolesar got the lone Seattle goal. Michael DiPietro made 24 saves for the Spitfires. Stankowki only made 3 saves with Rylan Toth doing mop-up, making 18 saves. Shots were 11-10-7-28 for Windsor and 3-13-9-25 for Seattle. Windsor was 2/6 on the PP. Seattle was 0/4. Seattle was 37 to 28 on faceoffs.

Ethan Bear was held off the scoresheet, no shots and was -2 (although there are 2 missing + players on Seattle's goal).

Otters are ridiculous.

They are like the Cavs or Warriors in the NBA.
