Fitzpatrick is as good of a backup QB as any other backup QB in the NFL.

Fitz may be hitting the wall, though. He sucked last year.

He really isnt. He should be out of the league. I haven't seen such bad qb play in a long time.

He was pro bowl caliber 1 (one) year ago.

He is what he is but that isn't below replacement level

I forget that Fitz's 3 good games last year were the ones that Bills fans would have happened to watch.

Not really, I only catch the games on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. I usually catch the Saturday ones too but they just are not as talented as the other days.

I can't believe there's this much discussion about Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Tampa's backups were beyond awful. Fitz is still an improvement for them, and I'm sure they'll also hope he helps off the field with Winston's development. But you're still talking about a backup whom they are hoping won't play much if at all. Like most teams they will be screwed if their starter gets hurt and that's still true.

the 1st one I'm trying to understand the impact. Seems like it would be more difficult for teams to sign players cut by other teams, but OTOH, it lets teams with deeper depth keep from releasing talent until last minute. It lets all teams keep a larger insurance policy for in-camp injuries. I imagine every team will still make some cuts along the way during pre-season, just not as many, and no longer obligated to do so, until the final cuts.

It also gives players that would be cut a couple more weeks of paychecks.

I never saw the need for the 75 cutdown.

10min OT is foolish. Every offense on their first drive will run the clock down since a long drive w/FG could run the clock close or even to 0.

Just use the college OT rules. Maybe start at the 30 or 40 yard line for added difficulty.

Or at least give both teams a chance to score, regardless of if the first team scores a TD.

Too much of a gimmick.

I doubt the number of players who benefit from the short window to move to another team before the 53 vs. the salary the majority of these guys would rather earn comes out in favor of the majority of both parties in this situation.
