Gbu...

Good:
-Our offense, we had 4 goals and 40 shots. Unlike some of the games on this losing streak, our offense showed up.

Bad:
-Defense, did we even play defense tonight?
-Kalinin, Fitzpatrick...they couldn't clear the puck out of the zone if their lives depended on it

Ugly:
-We've now lost 5 in a row and Philly/NYR are only 3 pts behind us
-Briere looked off his game tonight
-Dumont was atrocious both on offense and defense

bad and ugly combined - so clue me in on why fitzpatrick was playing...was it because of mckee? we could've definately used him tonight...at least his face

Yeah, McKee's face swelled up from the puck he took to the face last night.

Thus proving my point that Dumont is nothing without Hecht and Briere.

The GOOD:

-Campbell's ability to move the puck up the ice.
-Some nice hits thrown by Lydman, Goose and Grier.
-Derek Roy has been our most consistent player for a long while now, he was good again tonight.
-Afinogenov with 3 assists and a excellent game offensively, the RAV line was dominant at times, eventhough TV had no part of it.

The BAD:

-Not having Jay Mckee in the lineup.
-Ryan Miller, getting beat to often these days on stoppable shots.
-Careless giveaways from almost everyone.
-Jason Pominville may need to take a seat - he's not contributing.
-Briere was mishandling the puck a lot and seemed disinterested and frustrated.
-Novotny looked like an AHLer tonight.

The UGLY:

-Watching Dumont coast around the ice with no purpose.
-Thomas Vanek's lazy attitude.
-Feeling uncertainty about this team's ability to turn things around for the playoffs.

I don't know that you can be both...it seems to me that if he's disinterested, he's probably not frustrated, and vice-versa...

The biggest bad in this game for me: Watching the first forward back lose his responsibility on defense on the 2nd and 3rd goal, as well as on other plays that Miller made tough saves on.

Danny looked disinterested until he scored last night in Ottawa as well. Something's not right.

Also, there's no 'may' about it, JPom sits when Hecht or Timmah! return. He's not been doing anything right for a few games now, so if he's hit the 'rookie wall' sit him for a few to get his energy back up and leave Jiri or Pyatt in the lineup for now. His primary job is getting shots through from the point on the PP.... I don'[t remember one good one in the past 5 games. Then again, Kotalik's shot selection is even worse.

Added to the Good:
-- A lot of good hits thrown, but not consistently enough

Added to the Bad:
-- too much gap between the forwards and defense. Max left Teppo to hang along the boards and Teppo had no play but the low %age one that resulted in the turnover and the GWG.
-- My gut feeling that no matter how many goals we scored in the 3rd, Boston would score last and win.

Added to the Ugly:
-- Vile officiating in the 1st period.
-- Kotalik's lack of presence (one good shift I remember, that's it).
-- the D consistently getting beat to the outside, caught between standing the forward up at the blueline and playing position to force them wide.... result? two goals for Boston early in the 2nd...Brutality Incarnate!

Ta,

Which is why I don't see why Lindy keeps him on that line. I counted a few more times tonight where Vanek was in front of the net waiting for a shot, while Roy and Afinogenov passed it back and forth waiting for one of them to take the shot. If Vanek isn't going to be a part of that line other than when he makes something up on his own, don't play him on that line.

Good:

Offense
RAV

Ugly:
Defense
Dumont
5 losses in a row
Starting to develop the feeling that when we go down by 2, we won't win.

Bad -

- Not seeing the game

Ugly -

- Another loss that even the fast-foward button isn't going to solve.

bad:

being badly outskated
being outskated to your own net
being beaten to most loose pucks
brian campbell's "defense"
0-7 on the PP
watching just about every sabre foward glide through the neutral zone behind a boston odd-man rush
miller unable to steal any saves
max's giveaway, a nice soft pass directly into his own slot
my attitude during the entire game! aside from the jokinen goal, this is the most angry i've been during a sabres game all year.

OT (a bit)

Hey, can anyone get the highlights from last nights game to play on NHL.com?

Hecht and Connolly can't be back soon enough...
And despite my feelings that McKee is not a 3mil/year defenseman, it was painfully obvious that he was missing last night.
More so for the fact that it completely screws up the 2nd & 3rd pairings.
Fitzpatrick & Tri Numminen & Soup

The team right now seems so unbalanced.

Being at the game last night, I have some observations for a change:

Good:
- Campbell offensively
- Miller making some outstanding stops look easy
- TV backchecking hard to break up a potential 2 on 1
- Teppo on the Roy goal: he was out there for a solid minute, and was constantly getting fed the puck. It seems like the rest of the team knows how good his vision has been this year, and he made things happen
- Finding Rammstein's Lichtspielhaus DVD at Virgin for 11.99

Bad:
- Campbell on the first two Boston goals. Nowhere to be found
- Dumont's overall play
- Max coughing up the puck at the end of the 2nd, directly leading to a goal
- Not buying the Rammstein DVD.

Ugly:
- Losing again
- Paying $23 for parking
- Knowing I'll get blamed for the loss

Ugly: Darcy not using that 2nd round pick he got from Vancouver, to bring in defensive depth.

No, they seem to be down. I noticed this last week at work. I thought TSN had them, but I'm coming up empty.

Whoops. Forgot to mention one thing.

What the Hell?!
- Ruff, after pulling the goalie with 1 minute left, has out the checking line, with Kalinin and Fitzpatrick at the points. Yeah, Fitzy's decent offensively, but if you're really trying to get a goal, don't you put out your best offensive guys? Briere, Vanek, Roy, Poms & Kotalik at the points, and Drury as the 4th [6th] forward.

Bad or Good, depending on your POV:

Johnboy has been rendered impotent for GDT's with the removal of the top 3 font sizes.

Bad/Ugly:

turnovers in our own end
bad passing
vanek's play
the refs: some calls were made that were questionable, and some weren't called
at all
Defense: did they EVER show up?
wanting to turn off the game in the first.
