The refs give them a ton of leeway. It's sickening.

Sens haven't had a shot yet in OT. If this were against the Caps, you can guarantee that the first one would go in. Lol.

No timeout = could be a goal on offside. Fun!

Well, double OT it is. I'm going to the gym and I'll watch it there.

Oh well, Ottawa fought hard. We should've defeated the Pens, we were a better team. We choked so hard.

Ancient Kunitz and Cullen do what's required. They fight.

Nightmare wins.

Pens are in no way some unbeatable juggernaut. But they have what we lack: an ability to play without tension and fear under pressure - and it's pretty essential to winning

In terms of talent, Ottawa is a team of scrubs (with few obvious exceptions).
Yet even these scrubs posed more of a challenge for the Pens than the Caps.
Anyway, if this were the last season for this Caps generation, these finals would be a hell of a fitting end. Symbol of Caps' team playoff impotence vs. symbol of Caps' team construction impotence.

They didn't. The Sens dominated one game, we dominated 5 games. The fact that we lost defies all logic and can only be explained by how terrible some of our key players have been in key situations.

Look at Crosby. I hate to say it but there was never a single doubt in his mind that his team was not going to win. This sense of confidence trickles down to every player on that roster and they're able to be clutch.

Our guys are paralysed by fear, and these insecurities trickle down to every player on our roster.

The Pens are successful because they're laser focused on who they are and what they're about. All top organizations are like this. The coaches know exactly how they want to play and management finds players that fit their schemes. When one player goes down they plug in another guy and that guy knows his role and how to play. As an organization, from top to bottom, they are a cohesive unit.

Trotz, meanwhile, tries to copy cat other schemes and their team identity changes based on the flavor of the week. The Caps have no vision. They throw a bunch of talented players together and hope for the best. Watching how the Pens play on the ice and hoping to emulate that is completely missing the point.
They're not the same team they were last year. The team they had last year is one I think that rivaled some of the greats. They were possession monsters who just churned people up but this year they were not the same quality of team. The only real test I think they faced this year was us. CBus was awful and the Senators, for as great as EK is, got timely goaltending and a monster defender to will them forward. They had a much better test last year, in my opinion, and think had they had to face the Maple Leafs they would have struggled mightly.

Who gives a hoot?
Sens fought back twice in Game 7 on the road and got to 2OT, Caps went down rather meekly in Game 7 at home. The Sens got closer to advancing.

Sens fought hard but came up short.

Pens are going for their 5th Cup. Nashville is missing their top two centres and the Pens have two generational talents at center. The sun always shines on the Pens. *Vomit*

The Caps have a grand total of 4 wins past the second round in their history. Just pathetic.

What a soul crushing experience it is to be a Caps fan.

I won't watch at all, too hard to ignore the Caps' angle.
Well maybe if Forsberg starts scoring a hat-trick per game, lol...

If Pit win, we have a good excuse for the second straight year, "we lost again the champions"

but go Nashville.

In fact, I really don't care who wins, don't care about hockey right now.

GMGM knew what he was doing. He knew this Caps team would never win the Cup so he sacrificed Forsberg for this exact moment to stop the Pens. Godspeed, Forsberg
