I love how we let go of all the guys that everyone *****es and moans about constantly and yet people somehow still can't give Sakic credit, saying stuff like I bet Sakic tried to bring them back etc. Give credit where credit is due, Sakic didn't retain bad coaches. He could have easily retained them, don't you think that these guys rather have jobs than not. If Sakic wanted them back they'd been back. Just because you don't like Sakic the GM doesn't mean he can't make proper moves.

My thought is now, there are no more excuses for Bednar. He has to show some results. Full offseason to prepare, gets to bring in his guys as assistants, most likely will be part of the offseason trades/UFA signings. It's show drastic improvement or be shown the door.

Strange...
Do you have to make everything personal? It seems half of your posts these days are driving home an agenda or some variation of 'haha, you were wrong!' What value to this thread do you think this post adds?

This move will swing a bunch of those doubters back the other way 😀

Uhhhhh what? Maybe by players but by fans? I never saw a single person post a positive thing about Amy

I'm sorry, allow me to re-phrase:

At least the Avs shed their arrogance and circle-jerk attitudes for a moment to announce this, even though I suspect they'll return to the festering rot of an organization that they are immediately after!

Is that better? More in line?

He was probably a good dude with the people who went to Family Sports or wherever.

Oh calm down. It was a joke for the most part. And its not like this is some great thing Sakic pulled off. This idea that someone should be praised for doing something they should obviously do is just too millennial for me. People don't need a pat on the back for every little thing. Do you praise a cashier for giving you correct change? Good job to Sakic for not making another mistake.

Army, the hockey vampire, is finally slain. Farrish and Allaire are no big surprise, but Army finally getting axed is a godsend.

Please, please can we have Mike Kitchen behind the bench?

I'm not saying he deserves praise for firing/not retaining the dead weight, but he doesn't deserve people bashing him either.

It was a good move by Sakic and company and should be treated as such. No matter if you like Sakic the GM or not.

I don't give Sakic credit because Bednar is still here. Bednar was a complete and utter disaster. Purge and move on. This is just another half measure IMO.

Was Roloson just a consultant when he was with the Ducks or a full-time goalie coach? Avs should really try to invest in the latter.

Thank the heavens Army is gone.

Doesn't bode well for people hoping Duchene won't be traded.

Oh, he still deserves to be "bashed". Not retaining these guys doesn't make up for the years of dumb decisions.
