There is no doubt that it was a clear 5 minute major on Kovalev.

There is also no doubt that Tucker had just tried to elbow Kovalev in the head and was running around on the ice looking to drill anyone he could when Kovalev came right at him and throttled him.

the thread has been discussed too much already.

Most non-leafs fans admit that while it was somewhat dirty, Tucker deserved it and Kovalev is awesome for laying it on him.

the way i saw it, Tucker was about to cheap shot Kovy, but Kovy beat him to the punch or elbow in this case.

Its odd that the MTL fans are glowing with pride after the incident...afterall, Tucker bounced right back and pounded Kovalev's face in before Kovalev was rescued by his teammates...

I always wondered why Kovalev hasn't been able to do more with his skill, and now I know...no brain.

Getting your face pounded in, 1 game suspension, and having to face Tucker 8 times next season (and as everyone knows, Darcy can sure carry a grudge and usually pays it back with interest) just for the satisfaction of landing that elbow?

Not too bright.

I'm glad you can live vicariously through Darcy Tucker.

I'm merely making a rather objective observation here. All of my comments are absolutely factual.

But I'm glad you're enjoying the circle jerk over Kovalev though, altho I still am curious as to why....

As a matter of fact, this reminds me an awfull lot of how much Ottawa fans cheered that time Chara tossed Mccabe around in their "fight"...Sure, Chara showed off his strength, but Mccabe left without a scratch, where as Chara threw out his shoulder and cost Ottawa the series. Yet Ottawa fans are sitll in love with that instance.

How very odd..

Ouch, true. I would laugh if Orpik lays out Kovalev tonight

Its because we think McCabe is a huge dork, and it was funny to see him get thrown around like the bag of dirt that he is. To hell with consequences, live for the moment says I.

You must be referring to the CBC made for TV movie version.

What? That Kovalev hammered Tucker and wasn't injured at all on the play in a game won by the habs?

Really similar consequences! Looks to me like habs fans have everything to cheer for...and leafs nothing in that situation
