Don't be shocked if Virtanen goes in the second round. He'll be gone by 80 for sure.

I wouldn't be shocked about what you are suggesting, but I wouldn't be shocked either if a player who missed most of his draft season slip in an amateur mock draft, you picked him mid 4th fair enough.

He was at the most important two competitions BY FAR for the European prospects- the Ivan Hlinka and u-18's and was very good in both. the fact that he missed most of the season and then looked good in front of hundreds of scouts and GM's could be as much of a positive as a negative..I talked to several scouts.and all were impressed at how good he looked despite not having played for most of the season......

As for him slipping in this mock draft..when you look at about 50 pf the guys picked ahead of him...I'm shocked he wasn't picked in the top 40.

He was never going to make it past the 5th for me, turns out the 4th.

It's interesting that grant says he'll go top 80. He really impressed me at the U18's. He's always finding ways to implicate himself in the play.

****...we need to re-do the draft again. Vancouver just acquired a 2nd round pick from Columbus...it makes the draft completely obsolete....

We figured that would be the case but it wasn't confirmed.

Just say Westerlund is a Canucks pick though I would have gone with someone else.

Roger that.

With the 193rd pick, Dallas selects defenseman Jesse Bjugstad from Stillwater High of the USHS.

"Son of Scott, cousin of Nick, Jesse is an all-round defenseman capable of playing top minutes and anchoring special teams. While not amazing at anything in particular (yet), he's above average in many areas. Hard shot, good instincts, excellent passer, decent skater, can play with an edge... he's a multi-tool player for sure, and obviously has the bloodlines."

edit: Next GM PM'd... I think.

Tampa selects Andrei Altybarmakyan at 196th overall

Date of Birth: Aug 4th, 1998 (18)
Place of Birth: St. Petersburg, Russia
Ht: 510″ Wt: 183 lbs
Shoots: L
Position: RW

Andrei went undrafted last year, but he won't go undrafted this year. He is small but creative with the puck and can use his shot efficiently. He produced well this year in the MHL which is expected for an overager, but he showed off his strengths during his stint in the VHL. We hope that he continues to build upon his successes and hope that he progresses well.

Also this beauty of a goal in the KHL All-Star game:

Good draft for OC. I think Altybarmakyan is probably worth a draft pick this year.

Carolina selects Kevin Hancock from the Owen Sound Attack, in that case.

Will PM the next GM.

**** is it too late to re-do my pick if the player still isnt selected? First time I miss a pick but it was so freaking long to finish the last few rounds I just checked out for a few days. Sorry guys.

Edit : Thinking about it, Ill put my trust in OJ. Bjugstad is a fine choice.

We've already let one person submit their pick after the fact, I don't see why we can't let you. Remind us who gets released, though.

Afaik, an auto was not in order, i have 6 hours from 8 am. It has been 4:45 hours...

Please remove that autopick. My actual pick is Alexander Volkov from the St-Petersburg SKA (VHL).

A tenacious forward that can skate and plays both sides of the Ice. He was amongst the best forwards for russia during the Subway super series.

With the pick #199, Philadelphia selects, from the USHL, the defenseman Scooter Brickey.

Big 6'3" defenseman with a well rounded all-around game, on top of contributing offensively with 7 goals and 21 points in 56 games, Brickey led the +/- differential in the USHL this season. Seems like a good value pickup with good NHL upside for a 7th rounder from our point of view.

_____
Draft completed for Philadelphia, pleased how it went, nice mix of prospects:
1st:#2 Nolan Patrick, C, 6'3", OHL
2nd:#44 Josh Norris, C, 6'1", USDP
3rd:#75 Max Gildon, D, 6'3", USDP
3rd:#81 Jack Studnicka, C, 6'1", OHL
4th:#106 Stuart Skinner, G, 6'4", WHL
4th:#107 MaCauley Carson, LW, 6'1", OHL
4th:#108 Denis Smirnov, LW, 5'10", NCAA
5th: #137 Pavel Shen, C, 6'1", MHL
6th: #167 Liam Hawel, C, 6'5", OHL
7th: #190 Calle Sjalin D, 6'1", Division1
7th: #199 Scooter Brickey D, 6'3", USHL
