He will be a good one for sure! Already our 3rd best scorer, and he's a rookie!

If he has the same type start next year to the way he is finishing this season off, he can easily be a 30 goal scorer.

Skates hard, plays smart, doesn't make mistakes- when the hell is the last time he took a penalty? Love his game.

He plays hard, is smart defensively, his offense is starting to kick into gears, he's fast (he surprises me with his speed sometimes), is a good skater and goddarn is he good to protect and fight for the puck along the boards. He's one complete player, he's starting to become my favorite Habs.

Gotta give Koivu some credit for helping this young guy.

Higgins is the perfect complimentary player for the top lines. He isn't the best finisher nor passer (not that he is bad) but he is always in the right area at the right time. He has a keen hockey sense, and is maturing as an offensive player alongside Koivu. I think its similiar to the Koivu/Lehtinen chemistry, not that i am comparing Higgins to Lehtinen cause Jere is already a multiple Selke winner, but in terms of what they bring to the top line.

For me its really nice to see management have confidence in these young guys. Komisarek with Markov, Higgins with Koivu. They are playing key roles, and under Julien and past regimes, we just didn't see it.

I bet this guy is a playoff performer, he LOVES big games. At first, i thought the Higgins-Koivu-Ryder was a bad line cuz they just couldnt sustain pressure in the offensive zone but it was only lack of cohesion. Now actually look great togheter, hope they keep it up.

and Bergeron at 110% at beginning of the year saying something like this....

''Rookies will need to be good to succeed, but Higgins, well we keep hearing about him but is still not in the bigs yet so there must be something wrong about him.....

and vice versa. The 2 combine well, Koivu plays well off Higgins speed and Higgins is learning to find open ice. With Koivu staying long term, it's nice to have a solid combination that can be used in any situation.

You have to like Komisarek's last month. At Christmas, we were wondering if the guy could play in the league, admittedly, I was down on the guy, now he often plays the last minute up by a goal.

They are really starting to look good out there together. They have a setup guy in Koivu, sniper in Ryder and speedster who finds open ice in Higgins.

At the start of the year, I didn't realize just how fast Higgins actually is. He's already a great penalty killer aswell. I can't get enough of him and I'm pretty excited that he's only a rookie and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If Jason Ward was playing with the godlike Koivu, then Ward would probably have 20 goals and 25 assists by now. Higgins.

I personnally never thought that Higgins would be able to play on the first 2 lines. Perfect player for the 3rd but not for the offensive lines on the team.

I guess it's not only Gainey's who's allowed to make mistakes...

And I guess Kilger would've hit the 50 goals mark already....

I was wondering if you were going to post in this thread. What was the bet? Something about a Higgins Av? I think it will look good on you BG

Well, like I said in the beginning, it's a bet that I can't possibly lose! But let's not count Wardo out yet!
