The fans in Nashville are experiencing one giant party right now. I want that team to win the Cup for so many reasons.

I know it's an old draft but this is why I don't trust the Oilers to draft anyone of note in the latter rounds.

Nagelvoort is cooler than Arvidsson.

To be fair, it's not like the other 28 teams found anything of note in the 4th round of that draft either. Nashville hit the jackpot with that pick, no doubt. It's pretty rare that an undersized 20 yr old Euro gets drafted and goes on to score 30 in the NHL.

It's a completely different scouting staff now.

Of course. It's just that Oiler drafting has been so bad for so long. The last two home runs we got outside of the top 10 are Petry and Eberle....

I recognize that but until we find an Arvidsson or Subban or Benn... I'm skeptical.

Ziyat Paigin is looking good so far as a 7th rounder.

I'd say Brandon Davidson and Anton Slepyshev applies. Tobias Rieder was definitely a home run.

I kind of get the skepticism because of past failures but my point is that missing out on Arvidsson 3 drafts ago has no bearing on whether or not to trust Oiler drafting going forward. Furthermore, I've always been of the belief that development was the bigger issue than the drafting was.

CTV - Chris Epp‏Verified account @CTVchrisepp
Ok. Brian Burke just said the thing that the Flames said they wouldn't say. Told season ticket holder the Flames could leave w/o new rink.

CTV - Chris Epp‏Verified account @CTVchrisepp
Burke also says Flames would be able find a place to relocate to.

Dan McGarvey @DanMcGarvey
Burke gets into it with guest on threatening to take the #flames out of Calgary. Says Quebec is one place they could go. #yyc #nhl

Hahahahahahaha. Please move

At the time. Nagelvort posted a 0.929 as a freshman for Michigan in 24 games, unfortunately he fell apart. Cant fault the Oilers for that

If this draft there is a triple overager and a goalie with those stats in NCAA in the 4th/5th round, id probably still take the goalie

Both the owners and now management are going all out on the threats. Unfortuantly they have a major that is the polar opposite. In Edmontons case, ownership and management still worked with city throughout the process even with some vailed threats. And city was very much pro rink

Itll be very interesting to see where this goes. Nenshi is incredibly anti public funds for the rink and ownership is incredibly anti-use their own money. This fight will get ugly. And hopefully, result in Calgary moving. I hate the Flames and Flames fans that much, Id enjoy seeing them move to Quebec

That's be epic, because then I'd call Johnny Gaudreau Xavier Laflamme

Burke is the perfectly arrogant dick that organization deserves.
