HITCHcock is a fatass
He was making a joke about an old friend. He said if he had that goalie his decision would be much easier in regards to who he will play in the playoffs. Try taking the quote in context next time.

Can nobody take a comment for it is anymore. It was a off the cuff comment about his former goalie like trippy said above. Give your head a shake.

hmmm, maybe this is a sign that the Flyers will unload Esche this upcoming offseason and bring in Belfour as a back up to Niittymaki and maybe show Frank a thing or two with regards to positional play and such. Eddie could be a very good influence on Frank and that might not be such a bad thing.

He'll be bought out from that contract though so he'd be available as a free agent.

Its actually a team option for next year. But if the leafs dont want it (which they wont) than they have to give Eddie 1.5 M

Either way he will be a UFA in the summer and with 1.5 M already in his pocket from the clause im guessing he would sign for 1.5-2 M (MAX)

That is only if the Leafs pick up his option, which they surely will not do.

He said it in a complimentary way, like he wouldn't have a revolving door in the crease if he had old Yeller to depend on. It is kind of funny how things get twisted to fit the context people want it to fit.
