Rangers vs. Islanders Pre-Game Talk

at PRE-GAME TALK

I'm so looking forward to this game! With the Flyers 3-2 defeat vs. the Leafs, this is a great chance to add another 2 points an leave the Flyers behind!

Don't know why, but I have this feeling that rough stuff will happen vs. Islanders, therefore both Hollweg and Orr should be in. I would rather have Orr play 5 minutes instead of Giroux playing 2.

It also may be warranted to give Tyutin a break and leave Strudwick in as Kasper returns.

My choice in goal is no question. As I am sure the Rangers would like to win this game without having to come back from a 2 or 3 goal defecit, Lundqvist is a no brainer. As the Rangers will have 4 days off after Ottawa, I say play him vs. Islanders and Ottawa.

LETS GO RANGERS!

But I'd rather have giroux playing 5 minutes than Orr playing 5

I'm almost 100% sure Lundy will be in net tomorrow and Thursday against the team from Ottawa. Renney basically tipped his hand on that last night.

Isles looked good tonight against Montreal. With the effort they used up tonight I'd except them to be a step behind us tomorrow.

It ain't gonna happen. Renney is high on Orr plus with Goddard running around and no love lost between the NYR and NYI, Orr will get the call.

No matter how much energy they took up tonight, they will come out ready tmoorrow night. Do not expect this team to be as flat as they were the last time we played them on Long Island.

First shift for Godard and Orr together, there will be a fight, or Orr will sucker Godard into taking a penalty. Godard def. will look for revenge of his *** BEATING from last game.

Sit Hossa and let Hollweg get back in there and redeem himself. I'm all for that.

Sit Hossa for a game! Maybe it'll do magic! Betts, Ward, Ortmeyer, Moore, Rucchin, Rucinsky are there to do the PK. I think the Rangers will surivive a game without Hossa!

If Hollweg is in the lineup, he will kill penalites with the 3rd unit.. Renney has been giving him PK time lately.

Hollweg's suspention should be up. Hopefully Renney will dress both Hollweg and Orr, and leave Hossa out of the lineup.

Prucha Nylander Jagr
Straka Sykora Ward
Moore Rucchin Ortmeyer
Hollweg Betts Orr

Scratches : Giroux and Hossa.

I like how your lineup corresponds with your avatar.

Prucha-Nylander-Jagr
Straka-Rucchin-Sykora
Ward-Betts-Ortmeyer
Hollweg-Moore-Orr

I agree Hossa must sit. If he's not producing offensively, he's a waste.

I'm not an Orr freak, but he should be in the lineup against the Isles. His energy in the 3rd period vs. Buffalo helped turn the tide.

And I'd just like to point out that since the Olympic break, Steve Rucchin has definitely stepped up, primarily with his playmaking abilities. Every game he's setting up a number of good scoring chances.

No reason for Tyutin not to play. I think Strudwick will be the one sitting if Kaspar is back.
