Lundqvist v. Isles

Earlier in the week, someone on the boards had stated that the Rangers should start Weekes against the Isles because Lundqvist "tends to struggle against the Islanders."

Lundqvist in his 3 games against the Fish:
2-0-1
1.62 GAA
.940 SV%

I will say no more.

So you would start Weekes the night after against the Sens? Or play Henke twice in a row?

Two starts in a row...We got a 4 day rest following those two games...Renney even hinted towards doing that in his post game press conference last night. I believe his original plan was to rest Hank against Buffalo and then play him in the back to back. I think that plan still holds true though.

You must have been thinking of another team. As an Isles fan, all he's done this season is frustrate me when we've played you guys. You found yourselves a real gem with that pick.

Do us a favor and play Weekes when we play you. Please?

If I'm not mistaken, Weekes was terrible against the Isles in a pre-season game (was it 3 goals on 4 shots?). I believe it was on LI.

He played that game in the Coliseum as part of that home-in-home in october...gave up 5 goals. He was however pretty good in the last game that we played against the Isles.

We are still fighting for seeding, however Weekes has to play simply because Lundquist cant start every game until the seasons end, even he's not superman.

I want Lundy to play today though because I cant stand the thought of giving the fishsticks a chance

the only good part about weekes playing is that its an excuse for me if the Rangers lose...those Isles fans brag and I can just say "wow, you beat weekees, congratulations"
