Going 7-3-1 in the expansion draft now. Poor Vegas.

So how does the Avs D stack up for next season, assuming Barrie or someone else isn't traded or brought in?

WOW. Hate to see Beauchemin go out like that, but it's the right move for the team. I do wonder if he was asked to waive.

You'd think they asked him to waive and he declined

I liked the signing at the time but it was evident he was on his last legs.

I guess we have:

EJ - Zadorov
Barrie - Mirovov
Bigras - Butcher

Yikes.

They were gonna take Pickard anyways so I doubt that it changes much for them..

Happy to never see that guy ever in burgundy and blue again but a bit surprised that they did it...

I have my doubts about that. Comeau is who I think they'd have targeted. With 7 protection slots though, Comeau is likely protected. Picks it probably will be.

IF we discover they asked him to waive, he refused and then Sakic had the guts to buy him out, my opinion about GM Joe Sakic will improve drastically.

Really good decision, gives us way more options for the expansion draft.

With no trades we'd end up rolling out:

Zadorov - EJ
Kulikov - Barrie
Barberio* - Mironov
Lindholm

*Bigras

I'd say that almost seems likely at this point...

Nor would he play ahead of Barberio or Lindholm.

I told you.

Not only did I tell you it was going to happen, I told you dater was full of crap when he said they weren't and that 'it could change, but he doubts it'.

Not only does he have ZERO sources (that would know), he's bad at reading situations.

Zadorov - Johnson
Mironov - Barrie
Barberio - Bigras/Lindholm

Avs will probably add another D to that group this summer through trade though.

I wouldn't hate that defense. But I'd hate to be forced into that defense because Sakic was sitting on his hands.

Increases the chances of Colborne or Comeau going to Vegas.
