Much happier with this tandem. Doesn't mean results will improve right away but they'll be playing better hockey with a better process.

I think Jack Eichel really benefits from this, based on the way Housley played I am guessing he's going to have a pretty uptempo system.

Endorsed. Tough to find a criticism of him outside of those that wanted someone with prior HC experience at the NHL level.

No not at all. However that's not for here. I'll give this moment for the fans happy for this hire.

Very excited. Like the idea of Capuano as an assistant too.

A big part of coaching is simply getting the roster behind you and willing to go out and get after it. If Housley is going to promote a style that gets the players excited and into practice and games, he's already miles ahead where this team was in April.

He's not Dan Bylsma and he has not failed before. I'm happy.

I keep getting happier and happier...this is going to do so much for Risto, Bogo, Guhle, Antipin...hell, we could even see Casey Nelson get another shot at it. What a great summer to be a Sabres fan, and it's not even draft day yet.

I'll be satisfied losing 6-4 as long as I don't fall asleep during games anymore.

Seriously, and absolutely. I barely watched the team last year, they were just so dull. Pick up the speed and the skill and let it all hang out there.

And everyone worried about the Powerplay... I mean... Jack Eichel is still on it. Even Bylsma couldn't screw that up though it wasn't for lack of trying.

Phil Housley's return to the Buffalo Sabres (even if he's a head coach now) has got to be a homecoming for him since he broke into the NHL with the Sabres during the 1980s, even though his biggest impact was helping a rookie Teemu Selanne have his best statistical season in '92-'93 with the Winnipeg Jets before a holdout period took Housley away from Winnipeg to St. Louis before bouncing around between Calgary (first stint), New Jersey, Washington, back to Calgary (second stint), Chicago and Toronto.
