It's tough to say.

Drouin only just broke 50 points last year, but that team was hit hard offensively with key injuries. Drouin didn't get to play with Kucherov at all, either. If he breaks 70 points next year, I'm not going to be shocked.

Please no I hate the way Matt Duchene plays hockey. Wants to be a one man show 100% of the time.

Makes for a cheaper second line if we don't need to support him too much.

You seem to dislike everyone.

Is there a not particularly physical forward you don't hate?

I'm hoping it's McDavid but even then, I'm not sure

That lineup I posted is pretty balanced, outside of maybe the third pairing and the 4th line. But even Pittsburgh wasn't a powerhouse top to bottom.

Not an awful option for us, really.
Pouliot would do well there I think.

Indeed, eat one year of Garrison's contract, but to be free of Pouliot going forward.

So while Drouin with a career year of 53 points fetches you friggin Sergachev, Eberle with a 51 point career low fetches you what?

The ball is in Chia's park and he has to realize that.

Garrison is an interesting player.
His offense has completely disappeared the last 2 years. It would be interesting to see what has changed in terms of his usage.

Not a big fan of ebs but if Drouin (with 1 50pt seaoson) can get you a high end prospect. I honestly think eberle can you even more

Drouin also isn't making 6 million for the next two seasons. It's not Eberle's ability that lowers his value, it's his contract.

Cue Montreal signing Drouin to a $6M/yr contract.

Drouin's AAV was 3.1 mil this year and will be asking for north of 5 mil for longer than 2 seasons (that's why Tampa traded him in the first place), a difference in 1 mil isn't gonna bridge the gap between Drouin and Ebs, Eberle should get a higher return in this market and Chia has to not be stupid and not listen to the how Oilers fans value Eberle

And cue Habs fans and all the Oiler haters out there saying it's a 'bargain deal' even though Eberle is signed to same damn thing.

I'm with you CO. I like the idea of a forward who shoots, and Duchene is certainly that, but he is so greedy with the puck. He will hold it and attempt a shot facing 2 or 3 man coverage instead of differing to a wide open team-mate. Plus, I want Drai centering the second line.

He probably will but he's still an RFA which adds value. Eberle's average regular season and lackluster playoffs have lowered his value significantly.

Eberle is 5 years older, signed for 2 more years at 6M. Drouin has way more upside and you can lock him up long term for around the same cap hit. Not even close to comparable.
