Me too. I'd love to get Tuch in a deal as well.

Sergachev just returned Drouin. You are not getting established NHL D like Brodin for 8OA and late second in a weak draft...

We are living in a world where Larsson is equal value to Hall.

Agreed on this. It's going to cost a bit. The challenge is whether we can do it with a lesser set of pieces than reinhart.

Some people refuse to realize this. The only possible trade I've seen with lesser pieces is Kane for Muzzin as they seem keen on Kane and can possibly allow to lose Muzzin. I think that one is realistic and may solve a lot of our issues if Muzzin hasn't really fallen off a cliff last season like some say he has. If we pull that off, there is probably no need to involve Reinhart until we see what we have in Risto, Bogo, Antipin, McCabe and Muzzin (these could be good 5 D in a good organized system IMO).

I don't think they would be all that similar, there's more to these trades than just forwards and defensemen.

Sergachev does not need to be protected for Vegas, is younger and much cheaper, and is under team control for longer. Drouin took up a protection spot that they can now use on Alex Killorn, and was looking for a long term contract that Tampa, from all accounts, had no intention of giving him.

If we were to trade for Brodin, the roles would be almost reversed. Brodin takes up a valuable protection spot due to their logjam of quality defensemen, and whatever pieces we send their way would likely be young and expansion exempt. Not to mention that they likely need to shed salary to stay under the cap this season.

Brodin for Fasching, Martin a 2nd and 3rd next year. If they ask for Baptiste or Bailey I likely say that's OK too. I'd be willing to give up the 8th but not much else added.

However since they are getting lots of offers, I'm sure someone else beats that offer easy.

you say the right words and then add things that show a great misunderstanding of why the words are true

I expect Minnesota to get much better offers for Brodin or Dumba than pretty much anything in this thread.

I expect them to say call them back when Reinhart is on the table and that's it.

They want a center and preferably one that is a RH shot.

They also don't want futures since their window is getting close to closing.

I think it is important to realize that a significant factor in the Drouin trade was that it allowed the Bolts to protect another player because Sergachev is exempt from the expansion draft and is under Bolt control for a number of years. This makes comparisons re trades more difficult to assess.

Drouin is more Reinhart than Kane.

I don't see Kane moving the needle for them given all the interest there is in their guys.

As they get closer to 5 PM tomorrow, might depend on how many suitors you get. Kane plus 2018 first?

That is such a quick yes for me that I doubt Minnesota would want to do that.

Nylander for Brodin.

8ov for Tanev.

Please make this happen.

That's buffalo winning both trades pretty handily.

Im not overpaying for Brodin. Id like to acquire him.

I would not be trading 2 of Reinhart/Kane/8th/Nylander for him as some are thinking.

Lemme rephrase that.

It hurts our chances of trading for him with expansion exempt assets only. (8th overall +, Nylander, etc.)

Also hurts our overall chances because that expands the trade market to include teams willing to move assets that need to be protected.

I think Canucks take 8ov for Tanev given where they're at.

Brodin is harder to tell. Figured Nylander would be of interest since he is expansion exempt and a year closer than an equivalent draft pick...

Very different values between those parts though. I'd do 8th/Nylander plus Kane, but any other combination of them is too much. Even Reinhart alone is really pushing it.

Yeah there are definately gaps in value maybe aside from Nylander and 8ov.

Kane is not in the same stratosphere.

The other issue is what is Minnesota looking to get?

If they are more short term focused, then 8OV and Nylander lose value to the Wild.

And with the talk that they were trying to get Drouin, it would appear that they would prefer to add an NHL forward that can help them in 2017-18 over a draft pick or a player like Nylander that they can't count on to contribute to the big club this upcoming season.
