Ottawa. Other than for the obvious reason that they are a very, very good team, that could be a nasty physical series. Having lost to the leafs three out of the last four years, mainly by being cheap shotted and out muscled, they are now built to withstand that sort of series. Having Chara, Volchenkov, Varada, Niel, and McGratton all riled up means that if we get past them to the next round, we will likely be too injured and beat up to advance any further.

Buffalo. Not the best team out there, but there's a mental hump that I don't think this team is capable of getting over.

I'm gonna go with TB as well. Mental barricade of steel against them for whatever reason.

Probably Tampa because they can't, haven't and wont do much against them in the playoffs, but second is Carolina for the same reason

It would be a mistake to use the last game as a sole benchmark for that team...

They have had one of the top Defensive teams all year. Only Ottawa has given up less goals in the Conference.

has nothing to do with the last game... they're a middle of the pack offensive team with the leading scorer in the league on their roster. eliminate Jagr's offense and the NYR are not a scary team offensively.

it's tough to come up with a gameplan that defeats good defense... however, you can come up with one that takes care of an obvious offensive threat. the NYR are going to be attacked in the playoffs very simply: eliminate Jagr and make the rest of the team beat you...

I have no problem playing any team in the East. Yes, Tampa had our number in the regular season in 03-04 and we gave them a hell of a fight. Their biggest problem is inconsistency. Buffalo, I don't have a problem with either. We've beaten any other team in the conference.
When the team plays like it did before the Leafs game last night, we can beat anyone.

I don't want to play NJ first of all, just because I have too many bad memories. 2004 doesn't exorcise them for me yet.

Buffalo and Carolina. I don't think we can match their speed.

Tampa doesn't bother me, I think they will be overconfident in their ability to beat the Flyers.

You said it yourself. Defense wins, and the Rangers are third in the league in Goals against. Even if their offense is not great, they can still go deep if they keep getting the goaltending and hard checking we have seen in the regular season.

see thats the thing... teams will go after jagr at every angle and this team has responded wellto that, so i can see that benefiting the rangers... i see alot of assists for him

I agree with the Flyers fans saying that the Rangers offence is a one man show, because frankly it is, I believe Jagr has an assist or a goal in almost 60% of the Rangers goals so far this year. That is insane.
With that said however, teams have known that Jagr is our sole offence the entire year, and even then teams have not been able to shut him down which means that even if you know he is our only threat its still difficult to beat him.

It all depends.

If they play as well as they did during the 5-game winning streak (against good teams) then I don't care who they play.

If they play the way they did against Toronto, they'll be beat by anyone they face.

That's all it really comes down to. The team has the talent to beat any team, but it all depends where their hearts are.
