Fabbro is a blue chip prospect, who did nothing to lessen the shine on his first round status last year. Am I missing something or do you just have an agenda?

Well things are certainly getting interesting. Chicago just made two moves within the span of like 20 minutes.

Hjalmarsson to ARZ for Connor Murphy and Laurent Dauphin

Panarin + Motte to CBJ for Saad + Forsberg

Woah.

Now Stepan and Raanta to the Yotes for the 7th OVR and DeAngelo.

Lots of things happening. Poile better get something to work. Seems like it's only going to continue being a crazy day.

Does NYR still have Hellberg? Would he be in line to back up Lundqvist next year with Ratatta(wait... that's a Pokémon) Raanta gone?

It'll be funny but because the Oilers want a defensive 3C making less money, we could offer Jarnkrok and Craig Smith for him lol.

Those hoping for Oshie, well he's gone. 8 year/46 million to the Caps.

8 years for a guy that turns 31 in December. That is going to be a rough deal towards the end. Nice for the next 2-4 years though.

And that's a good bet at the ballpark at which it'll take to have gotten Neal signed - similarly productive wings at similar ages.

yikes. I hate that deal. go for it caps

also, I read we have $22 million in cap space, obviously have to sign Arvi and Joey but we have some money to play with. Get things done tonight since free agency is largely not that good this year.

what would you all think about sending our 1st this year and next year for Duchene?

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Jimmy Murphy: “With regards to Matt Duchene, I wouldn’t say any team is “out”. #Avalanche still trying to move him, but need to come down on demands!”

Makes sense. Aberg definitely earned his spot this spring, Gaudreau will definitely get a shot too.

Why do you think Aberg earned his spot? He did look good in some games, he was invisible more often though. He played in the top 6 with Forsberg almost the entire time and finished with 5 points in 16 games. I'd say he deserves a look and a shot in camp, but he certainly didn't earn a roster spot in my opinion.

Ruff was hired as an assistant coach, not GM, as far as I know.

Poile confirmed that Parenteau and Fiddler won't be back. No surprise there.

Draft is over, so all that's left to do is trade for Duchene then sign Shattenkirk and Jagr. Start the season, Make the playoffs, Win 16 playoff games and hold a parade down Broadway next June.

Aberg has played well enough to deserve to start the season in Nashville. Whether he locks down a permanent spot in the lineup will depend on his play.

He has 7 points in 33 career NHL games. He showed some flashes in the playoffs, but also disappeared for long stretches. 5 points in 16 games riding shotgun with Forsberg is not deserving of a guaranteed roster spot to start the season.

I agree with this, there's more to evaluation players than just looking at the score sheet. Aberg showed that he has all of the tools to be a regular and he should come in with confidence next season. He can play in the top six and score, or play in the bottom six and provide some energy.
