Bold strategy by the Flyers, Rangers, and Pens to get worse. I guess they're trying to keep up with the Caps offseason.

Oh, no. Not Reaves. Anyone but Reaves.

With Kostin off the board at 31 the appeal of the 37th pick loses its lustre. I like Ratcliffe and Hague but unless it's a move that has to be made (or there's NHL-ready talent returning) I'd just hold on to Grubauer.

27th pick this year (hey, that's ours! ) and a future 1st rounder. Seems like it was just as much about unloading Lehtera as it was acquiring Schenn.

Maybe they were talking UFA rights? Justin Williams would be a good fit there. San Jose has two sixths and three sevenths.

Blues with the Kostin deal basically trade Lehtera and 2018 1st for Schenn. Parlay Shattenchoke and Reaves into Sanford, potential top liner in Kostin, Schenn and dumping their version of Orpik. Armstrong GOAT.

Wouldn't be surprised to seem them be next year's Predators

Curious of the return. The Islanders had about 5 million cap room before the trade now they have north of 8mil., wonder if this means they might be interested in pursuing Shattenkirk now.

I imagine Garth will use the return he gets from Hamonic to try and acquire Duchene.

A lot of prime options falling off the board near the end of the third.

The top of my board as the fourth begins:

Primeau, Chmelevski, Strome, Reedy, Ruzicka, Safin, Elvenes, Chekhovich, Toropchenko, Virtanen, Minulin

Toropchenko also gone to STL.

I'd go Chmelevski if still there.

Tobias Geisser is the pick I think. Swiss defenseman.

He was one of McKenzie's seven HMs in his rankings after the top 93.

Man, they're stocking the cupboard full of defenders. Maybe hoping, eventually, one pans out?

“A big mobile Swiss defender with smarts tools and a toolbox, a strong understanding of the game, and nice stickhandling savvy. Can he continue to improve his play to handle the quicker play and pressure the big leagues bring? He only has one gear: faster than average. Needs plenty of time to fill out and continue improving his skills.”

“Tobias Geisser is two-way defenseman with excellent size and mobility. Sees the ice well and plays crisp passes to spark a team’s transition game. Has a long reach and shows a smart defensive game, while keeping his plays simple. Needs to improve his physical play and has [made] better use of his excellent frame, as he plays a soft game. Owns a hard shot, which makes him a valuable option for the power play.”
