They score. Wow...What a lazer beam of a shot that one was. Mcdonald scores. And with less than 3:00 to go in the game, we're tied at 4. Ugh. 4-4 in Anaheim.

Ah well... the Ducks played with great passion tonight and deserved to win.

We probably could've had the win and certainly deserved the tie we got.

I'm hopeful that our best player was just held out for precautionary reasons tonight...

Unfortunately, I have to agree. In fact, the Stars have no one who could square of with Fedoruk without getting his *** whooped. I miss Hatcher and Erskine..

BTW Pepper; Just wondering whether you would take your comments back you made prior to the season, how the Stars were one of the softest teams in the conference. I'm not trying to stir the pot, just trying to get your thoughts on that one.

Well not the softest by any means (Detroit is softer than your average european team), I like the fact they got PErrot and give him regular shifts, they have Ott and Morrow who can play physical but are unfortunately way too small to battle the bigger opponents.

On D you have Boucher and Mitchell who can handle themselves just fine but they don't exactly strike fear in to the hearts of the opponents, that defense could definetly use Erskine for few shifts per game.

I know Stars have the 2nd most fighting majors and they defend each other but other than Perrot, they won't intimidate anyone. Then again, Stars seem to be a team that is not easily rattled by opponents playing tough.

Problem is, I don't define a tough team soley on their fighting ability. The Stars play a very physical style of hockey and they have the right players to make that system succeed. The Stars rank first in the entire NHL in hits and fighting majors (not second).

As for Erskine, he's a tough customer but a liability. He should not play a shift when you have Klemm/Daley, Robidas and Niinimaa as your final 3 defensemen. You don't play enforcers over seemingly better players just because they can fight well, not especially when you have about 4/5 guys who can do that job as well. You have to draw a line somewhere.

I agree, there's more than fighting when it comes to physical play.

Erskine is not the fastest guy in the league and can be a liability but I think Stars could use him as 7th guy. Just as someone you can put on ice to send a message.

then again, I like physical game more than 99% of average NHL fans so I could be biased.
