This is a move to do. You can still trade him one for one if you find a club wanting to trade their "Parayko" (why would they do it btw?).

I mean, 8 years and 6,25M... Smth like that.
My Parayko trade scenario was Kuznetsov for Parayko, not Carlson. Then they move Carlson is a parallel trade for a center like Duchene.

I mean I don't care about the name on the back of the jersey. If they aren't helping the team win then there's no reason to keep them around. Here's a cup of coffee, thanks for the service, and the exits that way.

I feel like we just get worse with a trade situation like this...

Didnt mean specifically your option just mentioned we can sign Carlson first and then look for a trade partner. If there are no - we have Carlson at least.

I think this isnt an easy move to do in reality.

Maybe but Duchene to Kuznetsov seems like a big drop off. Our problem last year was we couldn't score when it mattered, not that we couldn't stop them.

Or at least its the bigger of the two problems.

AHL depth. Would not expect him to make the team. Can punch some faces, though. So I guess maybe he gets a niche spot if they really want to move Wilson away from fighting

Matt Duchene is only 1 year older than Kuznetsov, and had produced at similar levels before. I'm not overly concerned about a down year on the worst team in the NHL, in which nobody scored and they had a 12.6% Powerplay.

Honestly, Peluso is an absolute plug. He is probably one of the toughest and best remaining fighters in the league, though. He will absolutely tune up whoever he's fighting. Maybe Peluso and Sestito can have a brawl at center ice.

He's a Hershey player.

Caps are losing at least 5 guys from last years NHL roster (Williams, Alzner, Shattenkirk, Schmidt, Winnik). That's 5 guys from Hershey that will replace them.

So Caps need 5 players for Hershey. Here is one....Peluso. Need 4 more, prob 3 d-men.

Thinking about it more, I guess I wouldn't mind Peluso on the roster as a healthy scratch in order to let one of the Boyd/Stephenson/Barber/Walker types stay in Hershey's line-up.

At this rate... will there be a market for Orpik?

Something like Orpik + 2019's #2 for one of the VGK's defenders with 1 year left. Maybe even some salary retained.

Call Peluso up for the Penguin games and Reaves.

I toyed around with that concept, but the issue is that Vegas still needs to shed defensemen to prevent them from having to waive players. Even with Theodore in the AHL, they still have 10 defensemen already on their roster. I don't think they're going to want to take Orpik back.

I would like to see the team sign a vet D-man for 1m. Someone that can play bottom pair. Allow just one player to be slotted into the top 7. Then if antother kids outplays Chorney or said Vet D, then so be it.

There's our answer to the Penguins trading for Reaves

OK. 2 dmen back

Emelin and McNabb. Matches Orpik's salary, almost even.

I second this, something to just stabilize the youth learning curve we are going to deal with next year. Hopefully by the playoffs he can be the healthy scratch and we're rolling with youth who have no idea the caps don't win in the playoffs

I would love Brian Campbell for a year. But seems like those types of deals are only for the Blackhawks.

Vegas also doesn't want to trade their younger guys (McNabb).

Campbell, Quincey, Polak, and Jokipakka could fill this role if they're willing to sign for cheap enough. No guarantee that any of them would.

Quincey and Campbell would be the 2 guys I'd go after.

What is Seidenberg's situation now?
