Seems like a lot of coin, no?

Pretty pricey. Hopefully he takes over Enstroms spot as a 2nd pair D.

Long time Kulikov watcher. Dimitry Kulikov is a puck moving defenseman with a horrendous shot. His pros:

-very high defensive IQ
- sometimes physical and will hipcheck occasionally (seriously everyone likes that)
- Solid passer

Cons:
-Horrendous shot
-Black hole on offense

Conclusion: If he's your #4/5 guy and making less than 4 million aav, it's a really nice move

edit: just say that term-it's too much but he's considerably better than who you had in that spot.

A bit steep in $ but short enough in term to not be a concern.

Kulikov - Myers is a good 3rd pair!

If Sabres brought him back on that deal the fans would have rioted. Yes he was hurt but he never recovered despite playing regularly after he came back.

Hahahah oh my. Why are the same people who say "Chevy is awful. Why doesn't he fill some holes on July 1" are the the same who complain when he actually does it?

I think he might be Byfugliens' new partner. Enstrom - Myers as the third pairing.

Personally, I'd be OK with the AAV for 2 years. For 3 years, that's too much. Still: it pushes Chiarot down, and we're already down Stuart, so I'm more than OK with this, given the Jets cap situation, and the fact that we have to start making noise.

Morrissey - Trouba
Enstrom - Buff
Kulikov - Myers

Chiarot
Etc.

That's a pretty strong defensive line-up.

The 3rd year is probably what got it done. Without it he doesn't sign.

It's more money than I would have liked. Still, it solidifies our D, assuming Kulikov bounces back.

Pretty much. It's a bit more than I was expecting but this is the name of the game when you are buying on July 1. All in all the organization has flipped the switch from builder to hunter and I am stoked about that.

Was hoping for two years but not a big deal. Necessary signing.

Like the signing, but money and term is a bit much. I guess it's the going rate for fringe top 4 UFA defensemen. Still a better deal than what Alzner got in Montreal however.

Agree. Depends on how Enstrom bounces back.

I think the Kulikov deal is a bit rich, but it costs to bring UFAs in, especially to Winnipeg. Mason is a big get. Stabilizes the crease. These signings send a strong signal to the team that the Jets are in the mix.

Better than 5 years 23m for Alzner.

He was pretty good in Florida. Not outstanding, but a solid D-man. Horrendous his last year in Buffalo, but much of that can probably be attributed to a back injury and Bylsma.

Kulikov is only 26, may rebound into a Postma-Redmond type yet!

I guess he'll be our Enstrom replacement for the future. For the next two years, he's a bit of a luxury. Happy with the signing.
