For a 4th in 19. Fine.

Could be a precursor to a Duchene trade.

I have always liked Wilson; can play LW/C. I thought he'd be much better when he got to the NHL though; he was so good at BU. I swear he reminded me of Sakic.

We need the good depth. It's a fine pickup. A 4th in 2019 is essentially nothing. We'll pick one up somewhere before then.

That's fine value IMO. I know some people will dislike the fact we're moving any pick at all, but a 4th in 2 years from now is fine IMO. Wilson is a solid add.
Thing is that a good GM is able to add this player without giving up a pick if he's taking on that salary. This is idiotic and I don't even think Colin Wilson is bad.

I dont care what the Preds guys have to say, any player who can produce at a 0.5 PPG in the league is very far from useless.

He's at worst a quality 3rd line guy and we gave up almost nothing for him.

This is a quality move.

I just don't get Sakic. This trade just doesn't fit the philosophy that he has been saying for the past year. Trading a pick for 2 years of a mediocre top 9 player just doesn't line up.

Pretty much no reason not to like this deal, we need NHL players at every position.

What's the point of this trade though? Covering for Duchene or?? Why we need better players?

Nice cheap pick up for you guys, Wilson will be incredibly frustrating, but for a 4th you take that risk every time. He'll either hit 19 points in an injury plagued season or he'll hit 20 goals and around 40-50 points.

A 2019 4th is fine, Avs have lots of time to recover that pick if they want. Plus I would still assume we would be receiving a pick in a Duchene trade? If one happens

Wilson is just a placeholder if they trade Duchene. Ensure controlled sucking.

The mistake you are making is believing that there ever has been a philosophy with this team.

Not a huge Wilson fan. Think we just took on the next Colborne for a 4th round pick...

If this leads to a Duchene for mainly futures trade because Sakic just "filled" the gap like he did with Soderberg and Iginla for ROR and Stastny , I wouldn't complain...

Well we don't NEED better players. We could just get last every season until the team is sold to Seattle

You can't run a team with only draft picks. At some point you need to get a player or two.

It certainly adds much needed depth, but why do we care? We are trying to land another top5 pick!! Are we trying to build good team again? What the hell is the plan?
