Agozzino is an excellent signing. Dwarfsoftsky could work well. Cannata should not be the backup in San Antonio.

Must have been that 3.60 GAA and .872 save % Cannata had after they traded for him.

Cannata? Does Joe realize that it's only the NHL team he needs to help tank?

Joe is going to give him every chance after trading for him.

I think you guys are overvaluing the Cannata signing. This proves more that Martin should get a lot more games next year, perhaps even a bulk of them as the number one goaler.

Yes, but it would've been nice to get him an AHL backup.

Glad to see Agozzino back. And the Sky Wars guy should be a wonderful addition.

But, Cannata? We seriously couldn't find anyone better? Did they even try?

Maybe Cannata is going to be the 5th guy because yeah, it seems like they didn't even call anyone else.

I even have the feeling our AHL team is going to look pretty young without a lot of vet signings. Anyone else get the sense they're done with FA? If they re-sign everyone they qualified I think that gives us 37 contracts? A little on the low end.

Why was he let go to begin with? I thought he was great in his short time at the top club.

I'm not exactly sure what they are going for either. They haven't signed a lot of AHL co tracts after the first day in the past too and then there's why not bring back a guy like Henley if you need bodies. Maybe they are doing more with AHL contracts because they really don't need 20 AHLers on NHL contracts or maybe they do expect some players from the Blues.

He was a UFA, probably wanted an opportunity in another org

Oh God, thought for a second Duchene had been traded to the Blues with a bunch of close-to-NHL-prospects coming back , then I remembered....

That farce just needs to end

Warsofsky's an interesting signing. 7th in defenseman scoring in the AHL last year. They paid to get him too.

His deal is one way $650k in first year. Then two way with $350k in AHL second year, $700k in NHL. $675k AAV.

Wars Of Sky is such a cool name. For that reason alone, welcome!

Shouldn't Avs sign more AHL players? Where we're at contract wise, around ~35/50?

Yeah they should but like I said either more are coming eventually, they have a bunch of AHL deals, or are expecting players from St Louis. Does an org really NEED 45-50 contracts? Is 35 plus 10-15 AHL contracts enough and get the job done? I think it's some of all of the above. When you have 50 NHL contracts then you just have NHL contracted players in the ECHL. The worry is having enough for callups but then there's waivers, which using their top priority for the first month doesn't hurt either.

I think we should have enough contracts to fill the 23 man NHL roster + plus 12 forwards, 6 Dmen and 2 goalies for the AHL.

Why's that? Not like he was ever a regular NHLer.

I'm really happy Agozzino is back! He got to see what else was out there and can come back here and be a leader down in San Antonio. The Cannata signing is a joke, but at least Martin should get plenty of starts.

I wonder if Agozzino will go to Europe after this season if he doesn't get called up
