Maybe Flames offered him 1 yr 4M and guaranteed first line minutes

I don't see him as 3rd line material anyways.

Maroon McDavid Johnson (Johnson can take draws as he's usually around 55%)

Or

Lucic Johnson Slepy/Pulju (if Drai stays at 1RW)

Either way it looks better than if RNH was slotted in his place. He'd also really help the PP where RH finishers are needed to compliment all our LH playmakers. He does present the problem of being too expensive long term just as RNH does though.
Dear God Johnson would definitely look so good here. Slotting him on McDavid's line could be the stuff of legend. Especially if we have Lucic Draisaitl XXX on the second line. Total diversity

Johnson seems like the last player in the league Chiarelli would acquire.

Because you need more than 1 productive line. Drai needs to drive his own line. He's going to be paid like a center that can do it and he's proved (on a small sample size) that he can. I think we need to try RNH with McDavid. He cant win a faceoff to save his life and I think he can produce there. Hopefully, he produces and his value takes a bump upwards and then you trade him. Can't afford him anymore.

Not that I disagree with Drai getting the center role, but it is ultimately up to McLellan where Drai goes, and he's not going to make that decisions based on their salaries.

I think Drai will get time as the 2C and also time on McDavid's wing

Thats alright... would be kool to watch him 5 times a season.

At this point I would rather have Slepychev, Puljujarvi or Caggiula over him.

I agree. There will be times, ie when you're trailing in a game, or when you're trying to change momentum that you put the two on the same line but I would go with the Sid-Malkin model - two lines, spread out the offense, put the onus on the other team to come up with two sets of lines that have to defend.

Rnh is a hard working guy despite his lack of offence. I think he could do well next to mcDavid. At least u wouldn't get lazy soft play like in eberle

I'm a fan of Johnson, but I don't think you can put him with Lucic, Lucic has always been dependent on near elite talent to carry him so he can put up his numbers. His linemates need to do 85% of the work so he can just focus on his strength of cashing in on garbage around the net. It's only cause Lucic was uncharacteristically hot on the McDavid + Drai powerplay that he didn't look like a horrible investment in terms of capspace. Going into next season we have to look at ways to get more 5on5 offense out of Lucic, which I think means he has to play with Drai, since Lucic and McDavid don't seem to have the same level of chemistry as McDavid and Maroon.

Lucic-Drai-Johnson would be amazing too.

After the supposed sightings of Jagr in Edmonton, the rumor from Eklund could be just a negotiating tactic from Jagr's camp to push Chiarelli in signing him sooner. If Jagr is asking for 3m I say he's worth every penny, do it and get it done before someone like Calgary does try to snag him.

Calgary has just under 10mil cap room with approx 6 guys left to sign. Unless they move a contract Jagr seems like a stretch for the team down south.

James Neal may be used as trade bait still.

We're not actually believing that tweet about Jagr at the 124st market are we?

I wonder if Fleury is having any regrets agreeing to have his NMC. Vegas is gearing up to ice the worst roster I've ever seen lol.

Your team is also talking about Jaromir Jágr. Would you like to play with him?

"It's all speculation. If Jagr came, it would be great. It's nice to have excellent performance at that age. He still wants to prove it. A lot of boys should be an example of it. "
Also thinks he will be back in November (6 months) instead of 9.

I would guess something is lost in translation there and he was talking about the pressure from fans/media piling onto Schultz.

My office mate is Slovak. I will ask him tomorrow if he is in, but I'd also bet that the meaning is lost in translation. Let's see.

Jagr could be just making rounds to all the teams that will give him consideration. But by all means, it's all just pure speculation.

Interesting. Thanks for this.

It's too bad about Sekera's broken knee jerk. That must hurt.

If Jagr was in Edmonton, why would the travelling jagr's be here? I don't get that. Are they obsessed with him and seeking an autograph? I'm pretty sure they are from Calgary and go to some of his games.

Maybe The Wizard "Tre" sent them up to Edmonton as soon as he heard Jagr might be interested in Edmonton lol.
