What can the Pens get for Straka?

If Fleury hits 2 of his 4 bounuses, chances are that the Pens will be trading Straka. I've got a few questions about this:

1.Where do you think he'll go

2.What do you think the return will be.

3.Will there need to be prospects/picks added from Pittsburgh.

4.How will this(these) player(s) fit in with the new defensive system installed in Pittsburgh?

The way Pittsburgh is going, it may end up being another "salary dump they get next to nothing" trade. I hope it isn't the case because the Pens really need to keep some talent to help out Super Mario.

I can see him going to Detroit as their long lost centreman

Straka can play center but god he sucks at it.

He's much better suited as a left winger.

What do the Wings have to offer? Problem is the PENS want as little salary in return as possible. Yet, they want someone who can contribute now. Picks and/or prospects is all I could see coming the Pens way. Pens have solid D prospects but they are young. The remaining D is, well, old and Bergevin. CP's hands are tired, it appears, again.

It appears to me that Marty will depart the Burgh alah the Jags deal.

Let's here some facts or links to back your point of view up. I read in the summer that the Pens were looking to have a payroll of $17 million this season. I also heard that they were looking to move Straka. Here's the link:

Old? Yes. But can a team's budget plans change very drastically in a few months? No, not usually.

I agree that you're getting lowballed. Straka doesn't want big bucks like Kovalev did and he isn't nearing free agency like Kovalev was, so people should stop comparing the situations and using the whole Kovalev fiasco to fuel their argument that they only have to give up a marginal NHLer or two for Straka. And Straka's very talented and could help a lot of teams score some goals.

www.postgazette.com/penguins

check the archives, i dont have time to look through them right now. also, their payroll is somewhere around teh desired level. but it has been outright said that they do not NEED to trade Straka, any what is getting to me is that everyone keeps saying they need to when they dont. if they get a good deal for him, yes, he will be traded, i dont doubt that. but because of the Kovy and Jagr deals everyone now thinks any Penguins making over 1M isnt affordable to us, which isnt true. not to mention people always in proposals shovel rpospects at us, not thinking that with all the picks and prospets weve accumulated in past deals, that we have prospects out our ass. so no, we dont want any prospects in a deal either. im just getting sick of the same **** over and over again.

It looks about fair, but Edmonton can't afford Marty.

If Comrie's included, it's a different story.

That's not too bad.

I don't like giving up Focht, but you have to give to get.

Once again I must thank Phoenix for just tossing him in.

Focht is prone to brain farts but he's shown flashes of brilliance in his time here.

Why ?
I don't think Edmonton can afford to add 4M$ in salary for a 31 year old forward.
He's not going to put them over the top and make them contenders.
They'd be wiser to deal COmrie for young guys.

If Straka is dealt, given his age and cost, it will be to a contending team for younger players.

Wow. If the Pens do that deal they would have scary speed. Good deal for both sides I think.
