Ranking habs prospects: #17

Ranking habs prospects: #17

Quote:
A player will be considered a prospect until he meets the following criteria:

If a prospect is a skater (forward, defenseman) and has played in 65 NHL games or more before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday; or, if a goaltender has played in 45 NHL games before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday, that player will be considered graduated to the NHL. Conversely, if a player completes the season of his 24th birthday without passing those milestones, then that player will no longer be considered a prospect by Hockey's Future, regardless of the players status with his NHL club.
An NCAA player who signs his first contract at or above the age of 22 has three years to meet the above criteria (65/45), while those NCAA players that turn pro under the age of 22 will be subjected to the criteria above.

European players who sign their first NHL contract at or above the age of 22 have three seasons from the time they sign that contract to meet the above criteria. Those European players below the age of 22 that have signed a NHL contract will be subjected to the criteria in section one.
Feel free to suggest a name to go up:

Parisi, Tom
Koberstein, Nikolas

Let's see how he does in the AHL. I was high on Jeremy Gregoire coming out of junior. But he hasn't done much in the A.

The difference is that we all knew Gregoire had skating/speed issues whereas Addison doesn't. Not saying he will or won't make it, you look at Hudon and he ripped up the AHL at 20 despite his lack of size/strength/skating/speed. But some players just can't overcome their weaknesses. Not saying Gregoire won't make it either as he does work hard and plays the game right imo, but he has struggled so much at the AHL level to date.

Does Hudon really lack strength? I always had the impression that he was strong for his size.

The Fucale hate has gotten ridiculous. Addison is a guy who could turn out to be a 4th liner at best if everything goes well. I like him but him being considered a better prospect than Fucale is ludicrous.

Fucale has yet to establish himself at the AHL level.

He hasn't done a thing worth being excited about in years.

Again any of Bourque, Addison and Walford.

I think Bourque has some upside to him.

Fucale has terrible rebound control, if he doesn't fix it, he won't even be a good AHLer, so Addison as a possible 4th liner in the NHL is better then a guy that is even a good AHLer. That's not to say that Fucale won't improve, just that for now his rebound control needs a lot of work.

His last year of juniors, (19)

3.21 gaa and a .885 save %

his rookie year in the AHL, (20)

3.13 gaa, .903 save %

his 2nd pro season, 1st in the ECHL, (21)

3.17 gaa, .898 save %

those are just flat out terrible numbers over a 3 year period. That said he does seem to do much better in the playoffs,

'13 - '14 - 2.79 .882
'14 - '15 - 2.56 .913
'16 - '17 - 2.13 .932

hopefully being the backup in Laval will really help him focus on improving his rebound control. He won't have to be the go to guy as Lindgren should be excellent again.

Addison, then Bourque. Hopefully Walford is better than Fucale. We traded Beaulieu for him.
