Dennis very very slightly over vili. Vili has shown more but I think Dennis has a bunch of potential still hidden in there

Yeah I think you pretty much nailed it. Vili looks great and has tons of skill but is obviously too small. Cholo has shown the potential to be similarly skilled but also isn't tiny and seems better defensively. I honestly choose Cholo mostly because I think he'll have a more fair chance at establishing himself in the NHL. If you're small like Vili you have to hit the ground running, otherwise you get written off. Cholo will be given time and opportunities to improve. Saarijarvi is an awesome prospect. His pace is incredible. He thinks the game, skates, passes, shoots and defends at such a high speed. He's always pushing the play.

Maybe a 2? He's still a project and I don't think he will ever be amazing offensively. I skates like the wind, passes good, makes smart quick decisions, decent height. By the time he's on the wings he should fill out a lot more

Cholowski, agree that his ceiling is a #2.

Add Turgeon.

Saarijarvi. Cholowski has a lot to prove, and still hasn't done much yet. Upside isn't worth much if you don't build on it. Which Saarijarvi has done.

Agreed. You can talk about upside all day. But the proof is in the numbers.

This should be Bertuzzi. Until Cholowski shows me something to get excited about, then I'm not going to get excited about him. He's a "meh" prospect. I don't think he's anything special at all. He's still young though, hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm easily more excited about Saarijarvi than I am over Cholowski. Cholowski doesn't impress me at all.

You can't really judge defensemen on numbers though

People voting for Lil' Bert, what do you think his ceiling is? To me, he seems like a bottom 6 forward, but I can be convinced to change that opinion.

Middle 6. Steps his game up in the playoffs and is the type that gets overpaid. Complimentary player that opposing teams believe is pure scum.

Bertuzzi was drafted in 2013 - VS in 2015 and Cholo in 2016 so it's clearly obvious why Bertuzzi has showed more. I think VS has 40 point potential and Cholo 30 point 22 minutes a night potential. Cholo is hard to judge based on where he played in juniors and then in college. VS has been flat out dominant in the OHL.

These three are the next three easily and after that a drop off. I know the hate for our D but I'm excited about many of the D coming up. Hronek, VS, Cholo, Hicketts, Russo, Sambrook, Lindstrom and Renouf have been good adds over the past three years. I think a couple have top three potential.

Voted Cholo, we need Holmstrom on this last in a bad way.

At best he is a second line winger who dominates in the playoffs.

Voted for Vili. Again, shouldn't vote for someone just because they're a first rounder. Cholo seems like a second pair guy, but I think Saarjaarvi is closer to actually reaching his upside.

Bert or Russo, I guess. I just don't think Cholo or Vili are NHL players. Bert's at least a 4th liner, and Russo might be a 7 or 8D.

Pretty pitiful/pathetic group, at this point.

It's close for me. I'm a big Saarijarvi fan, I think he may have the best offensive potential of any defenseman we have. But I think Cholowski has better potential to a minute eater, and I think he can get back on the map in a big way in the WHL this year.

So I'll go with Cholowski for now, but I will definitely re-access at the midway point of the season. If Cholo doesn't produce like I think he can, I'll switch to Vili.

Turgeon has thoroughly disappointed me, so I'll say add Homer.

Going with The Big Cholowski here. I'm not concerned with his less than stellar year at St. Cloud. I don't think a lot of people realize that even high end prospects rarely come in to the NCAA and make a big splash. If you look back at guys like McDonagh and Alec Martinez you'll see they didn't have stellar numbers as a frosh.
