Don't think there's going to be a lot of appreciation for a guy who's stopped scoring, shies away from physical contact, and seems to be floating around looking completely lost. Seems like the McLaren hit really got into his head. When was the last time he scored a goal for that matter?

Good luck with this one.

People should stop repeating what that idiot Pednault keeps saying. Zednik scored 26 goals the year AFTER the McLaren hit.
Jeez, at least get it right don't stoop to the level of ignorant journalists.
If he had close to that on the LW this yearI wouldn't care how and with how many hands he did it.

I agree 100% and it's what I've been saying all along. People blame the hit and the one handed stickhandling. He's been one handed stickhandling probably since he was 10 yrs old and as you said the hit had no effect on the following years' production. He has simply lost it. I don't blame him for lack of effort, but he has zero production, zero execution and no puck sense at all and he's absolutely pointless on the power play...(watch, now that I said all this he'll come and score a couple tonight..

Fair enough. But for the most part, he certainly hasn't shown up THIS season. 12 games and counting without a goal. I remember he was our go to guy. And he was delivering. I see Zednik now, and I see a guy who looks scared as hell to go into the corner. Still busts to the outside, only he loses the puck in the corner whereas a couple of years ago, he used to plow through EVERYONE.

Don't get me wrong, I still think he's a great player, but he's been a shell of himself for a while now.

Send a message via MSN to Joey
This is also the first time he's been on our team after being a 30 goal scorer and he's NOT the first/second option for the coach when we need a goal. In fact let's see.....Ryder, Kovalev, Higgins, Markov, Bulis can all be counted on more than him to generate a scoring chance when we need one. Maybe the secret for him is that he doesn't perform too well when he knows he's not the go-to guy

It could be Mother Theresa....I'd still appreciate it. It's not about who is taking his place...its about the message Zednik is getting.

Wow!

If this is an appreciation thread in honor of the Z man,
I just can't imagine what a bashing thread would turn into...
