Welcome to the boards!

Habs, stanley cup champions?

Anything is possible, any team can win it, its just a question of who has the heart, who wants it more? Who plays their best hockey. If Huet stays hot and the team steps it up, its possible.

Likely? no.

Possible? yes.

Trolls are fans of other teams that will come on here and ridicule us because we are discussing a question like this.

Take a piece of advice from me friend and delete this thread.. it looks weird. Take the time to read how the Boards work, observe the scene first.

We are here to talk, I think the Habs will win 16 games in a row come playoff time, Kovalev will have the first 50 goal playoff season, and Huet will not allow one goal. It is going to be fun kids!!!!!!!!

I guess its too late.

I don't see why anyone should delete a thread that doesn't break the rules and I don't see how this guy is a troll either.

Habs 2006 Stanley Cup champions? Highly unlikely but of course anything is possible. If anyone can take us there it will be a hot goalie. We have that but we are lacking in so many other areas and who knows how long Huet will remain hot as well.

He's not a troll, but this thread is a troll magnet.

A-it's quite a bold way to start your journey on the boards (trust me...its one hell of a ride)

B-We the Habs fans are the bane of every other fan parading this forum; threads like these are bait for all those A-Holes to come and be quite rude to us;

C-Welcome aboard

D-Do you own a codpiece?

Once habs makes the play-off, anything is possible and I expect nothing less than the cup as a fan of the Montreal Canadiens.

I think it's safe to say that Habs will win the cup for the next 25 years. Twice per year.

If Mr. livingfree had 1000+ posts, nobody would be complaining about this thread.
It's a perfectly legitimate question and who gives a damn about "trolls"...

It has nothing to do with how many post he has, it has to do with the subject content. Some things are better left unsaid. Kinda like talking about injuries, then making threads about said injuries.

But to make a thread about this now is crazy, if we win it all then thread make away.

Just like in the NHL. If a rookie makes a bad pass through the center of his zone and it gets intercepted. He'll spend the next period on the bench. A veteran will be forgiven cause we know what he can do.

It's that kind of thread.

Mark my words:
The Habs will win the cup this year.
I have faith. (I also refuse to ever predict a loss for my team.)

Lol

Not likely. Just not enough scoring punch. Impossible to win this year? no. Just not likely.

I just hope they keep the core of developing guys together and pick up a nice mix of FAs to round things out.

2008 is my expectation

There's no doubt in my mind that the Montreal Canadiens will win the Stanley Cup this season. We easily have the best team in the whole NHL by a wide margin. Here's how it is. We have the best goaltender in the league in David Aebischer. He is like a god in goal and is extremely consistent, there is no way we can lose a game with him in nets. All the attack knows that we need to score 6 goals and there is no chance we will lose. Of course, there's also that French dude, but what's he done for us lately? As long as Aebischer's in nets we can't lose.

So, we're set in goals, as long as that French guy, (we all know how French surrenders so easily, brrrrr), doesn't play. Now let's get to defense. We have the best defenseman in all of Switzerland on our team as well as a huge guy in Simpsons. WIth those two anchoring the defense, it will be quite tough for the other team to consistently score. Bob Gainey, however, will have to watch his utilization of Danny Markov, however. We all know how bad defensively this guy is. He's like a loose gun back there and everytime I see him in his own end I fear he'll score on his own net. Brrrrrrr. So as long as we keep Simpson and Streit on the ice and maybe Souray at most critical times, we're set. There's no way we can lose.

Now the offense. We have easily the most balanced and powerful offense in the whole world of hockey. Just look at that legendary Ribeiro with his awesome footspeed and his willingness to go head first into the boards if it will make his team win. Plus he's on such a tear lately, if he keeps it up for the playoffs we won't even need Murray to complement his scoring. Apart from that, we have Murray which is a potent sniper, Bulis that has this midas touch and Zednik that will do whatever it takes to score a goal. Too bad we have that selfish Finnish guy on our team that's a total puck hog, I just hope his antics won't deconcentrate the team. Plus what about that Higgins dude, if he doesn't stop being such a liability on defense and just floating around, he should be sat. Oh, and then there's Kovalev . Can we get rid of this heartless tiny slow forward that has nothing to offer to this team. If Bob Gainey sits Koivu, Kovalev and Higgins for the playoffs I really think that this team can go far: that is, as long as Ryder keeps up his great playmaking.

We will win the Stanley Cup, we are the favourites and we will demolish every teams on our path. It will be a walk in the park.

<Knocking on wood to make sure I didn't jynx the team>
