Big time. We better not blow this. It should be noted however that the PP goal they scored to make it 6-3 should not have came to be as Vermette was blatantly tripped, and hence the penalty should have bene nullified.

Anyway, the guys gotta move on. This 2 goal lead should be enough.

As inexcusable as this is, this is exactly what happens when you have a good offense (even if it's missing a few key guys) and no defense.

The refs have been favorable to ATL a bit tonight. From my observations, they usually do seem to like the Thrashers (5th in PP opportunities) but we need this kill badly. Our PK units are in no shape to be tested by such a potent PP, so discipline is key.

Sets up a, shall we say, interesting game tomorrow night against Philly The boys should be on top of their game for this one. Oh boy, who else is excited?

Man if Atlanta could ever get some D they'd be deadly. I'm sure they'd make a run at Chara or Redden this offseason if either is available but I think Atlanta is very close to the cap limit. Maybe if some of that salary comes of the books this summer with UFAs and whatnot. I wish OLN showed this game instead of Avs-Blackhawks. Seems like OLN loves showing Avs games the way ESPN showed Detroit.

Really? Cuz I checked my cable guide a few hours ago and it said it was Avalanche and Blackhawks. Strange, maybe it was a mistake on the guide and they really did show the Ottawa game.

OOOH, I thought you meant the Ranger game tomorrow, which is on OLN...

No, tonight's Atlanta game was on Center Ice for me. They are giving a free preview (possibly by mistake) with the MLB Package.

Kovalchuk slashed Neil, after Neil tried to take him off his feet. I don't blame him for standing up for himself, even if it was chippy. The play that killed the Thrashers came after that, when Sutton took a dumb penalty and gave the Sens a 5-on-3.

Arnason has a mild concussion (unofficial), but that is going to suck.

Kovalchuk is now tied with Ovechkin for 2nd place in the Goal scoring race with 48.

We all know who is number 1 with 52, don't we :-)

I'm numbers type of guy.

Speaking of Numbers... Thank god the Rangers ain't in the Western Conference... Everything from no.5 to no. 10 still up for grabs, currently L.A. and Sharks looking in from the outside as no. 10 and no. 9.

In the East, Tampa Bay's win paired with Atlanta's loss and Toronto's SO loss, ... I guess its pretty much over, unless Tampa Bay and Montreal decide to start a 5-game losing streak paired with an Atlanta 5-game winning streak

6. Philly with 92pts
-----------------------------------------------
7. Montreal Games Left 8 Pts 85
8. Tampa Bay Games Left7 Pts 85
9. Atlanta Games Left8 Pts 78
10. Toronto Games Left8 Pts 77
11. Florida Games Left7 Pts 77

-----------------------------------------------
12. Fishsticks with 71pts

I wanna hear Sam Rosen's famous words tomorrow night but a little different. "The Waiting Is Over,The New York Rangers Are Back In The Playoffs" And clinching the divison would be even sweeter. Oh would i love that.

Not that NY needed any extra motivation to win, now they have to play this game like a game seven and take this one to the bank.

So, now all we need is 1 point to clinch the playoffs, right?
