Habs Milestones before end of regular season and other things

Here is what I'm hoping for:

1) Ryder to hit 30 goals
2) Bulis and Koivu to each hit the 20 goal mark (that will give the habs five players with at least 20 goals)
3) Huet to get at least 20 wins which may help a bit more for the Vezina
4) Huet to get 2 more shutouts to take over first in that category as he already leads all NHL goaltender in GAA and Save %
5) Habs to finish 6th and play either NYR or Philly in the first round of the playoffs
6) Habs to at least split each of the two games remaining vs Buffalo, Ottawa, and NJD (might beat em twice) and then beat Boston one last time which will give the Habs 8 more points to finish with 95 pts on the season
7) 40 wins for Les Canadiens which will be the first time the Habs finish back to back seasons with at least 40 wins since the '93 and '94 seasons
8) Leafs to go golfing and stop thinking they still have a chance at the playoffs
9) Darcy Tucker to be suspended after, yet, another "attempt to injure" incident

It's a bit of a stretch, but if he has a one 2-goal game then he'll have a shot. He's broken out of his goal scoring slump, so perhaps he'll get a few more.

4/7 games is a lot to ask though.

Higgins could realistically hit 25.

Yes, that's right. And I hope he does. Who knows..maybe 30 is possible the way he's been scoring. Wouldn't that be something.

Yep, and if he scores a hat trick per night, he could potentially reach 40 goals also!!!

It's unlikely but not impossible to think that if we stay on this good run we could chase Philly for 5th place. We're 6 points behind them now. That would probably get us Buffalo in the first round, which would be awesome because they've been mediocre lately.

Anyway, GO HABS GO

We have a 2.6% chance of finishing 5th. Possible but very unlikely.

Well, Koivu just scored his 17th against the Sens just now to make it 4-2 habs in the third. So, now he needs 3 goals in 6 games. Very doable.

Wow, after just one game since posting this thread the Habs have taken care of many of my wishes or at least made huge steps toward accomplishing them.
Tonight, here is what happened vs Ottawa:

1)Bulis and Koivu each had a goal meaning Bulis now has 19 and Koivu with 17 which is closer to 20
2) Habs keep their bid for 6th spot alive and well with their 8th straight victory
3) Habs have at the very least split the final two games vs Ottawa..winning the next game vs Sens is icing on the cake
4) Leafs inch closer to golf course with SO loss to the Bruins

Next game I expect Ryder to hit 30, Bulis to hit 20, Koivu to hit 60 points, and Habs to grab 6th spot by beating the devils.

Koivu is also having his second best season statistically! 59 pts in the year!

And we have our 40th victory of the year! So you can cross off number 7 on your list.

Really...I know he had the one season where he had 71 or 72 points...very surprising. I guess the more you think about it the more it makes sense as this is the first real relatively healthy season Koivu has had.

Just checked Kiprusoff's stats. His stats are just too close to Huet's to believe his small amount of games can be forgotten...

The Vezina is Kipper's.

Which is not that bad a piece of news, considering Huet is this year's Kipper.

And I am definitely looking towards your point 4 being clinched. As much as I like Kipper and the Flames, I celebrated when Phoenix registered its first goal of the game late yesterday.

Good thing Huet can't win the Vezina, it saves us money.

This isn't exactly the most meaningful stat, but one more point for Dandenault would give the Habs five D-men with 20+ points for the first time since 1982-83.
