Not really.

From a Montreal perspective - huge risk in Deadmarsh, had last season wiped out do to concussions, and hasn't played yet this year.
Lappy will be a UFA at the end of season.

From LA - Why would they take on Brisebois's ridiculous salary, and if Deadmarsh does come back healthy, he can a decent power forward, something every team wants.

Deadmarsh's concussions, Brisebois's salary, and Laperriere's free agency makes this a no deal.

If it is a healthy Deadmarsh, then LA is taking it on the chin

No from LA......Deadmarsh is doing full contact drills and has that concussion proof helmet now.....I'll take the chance that Deader will be back to his old self

Deader is not doing full contact drills and there is no such thing as a Concussion proof helmet. He has increased the tempo during practices for the last few days and he is practicing with the team (as opposed to by himself), but he hasn't started contact drills, i'm hopeful he'll be able to return soonish.

This deal doesn't work for either team under current circumstances.

If Deader is healthy, this is the most ridiculous thread I've seen here in a while.

Even with him not healthy, it's pretty iffy...

so, neither team likes the deal because Adam Deadmarsh may/may not return to full form?

thanks guys. you're a big help.

the fact of this proposal is that both teams are taking a chance. if Deadmarsh gets healthy and thrives in Montreal, LA still gets a decent package for Deader and a UFA. if Deadmarsh doesn't thrive, Montreal still gets two fairly good forwards, and doesn't give up their firstborn to get them.

other than the fact that you're all pessimists, what's wrong with the proposal?

No one is going to trade for Deadmarsh until he plays some more hockey. So revisit this after that eventually occurs.

Even then, he won't have the value of a 35-goal scorer in his prime, because of the very real health risks. As for Brisebois, I don't think Gainey is shopping him.

The canadians quietly had pat b on waivers last year(twice) and no one wanted him. The habs will have to eat a large portion of his contract to move him and I truly doubt that the habs--even eating his contract, would get a blue chipper like Deadmarsh. Even though he is injured, insurance is paying deadmarsh's contract

Of course. But the fact is that Deadmarsh's head is mush...he's one big collision away from retirement at this point. Even when he comes back, i would expect his play to be tentative much like Lindros after his latest return.

All things considered, i would pass if i'm Montreal. I have very little faith in Deadmarsh ever returning to his former self.

Brisebois never was offered on waivers. Czerkawski and Audette have, not Brisebois.

We're not looking to dump him, he's playing fine.

Who cares if insurance are paying Deadmarsh's salary. Is he usefull from the press box? No.

At this point, I take Bulis over Deadmarsh and Brisebois over Laperrière.

I think this deal is horrible for the Kings.

Even though Deadmarsh is having his concussion problems what on earth do they want with Breezeby? Or Bulis?

From a Kings POV I'd rather have Lappy over Bulis. Lappy is a heart and soul type player while Bulis is...well Bulis. Talented yes, but what effect can he have on the Kings? They have young guys who can provide the same thing Jan does?

The deal would never happen from a Kings POV.

Because Deader signed a new contract in the off-season the Kings have and will not receive compensation from insurance because of his injury until he plays and is hurt again (God forbid that, the law of averages has to be kickin here sometime for the Kings and healthiness).

As far as the deal goes I think the Kings would reject this. The Habs would too.
