I wasn't happy with the way koivu played gomez in the neutral zone when gomez gathered all that speed. Koivu's job was to slow gomez down a bit and he failed. this opened alot of options and lanes

Usually a team needs to clutch and grab when they are getting beat in the neutral zone. The Devils don't because they are excellent at staying between the puck and their net. Giving them a 2-0 lead is just asking for trouble.
What they do is play the most boring brand of hockey in the league.

Yes, but that style has won them a few Stanley Cups.

But yes, I hate the Devils too.

They can only play that way if you let them. A couple missed assignments in our own zone and whamo.

I don't see the urgency from us. We always play like limp you know whats against NJ.

We did have two open nets that should have been goals though. The game is a lot closer than it seems now and we haven't played all that well.

They were double shifting the EGG line early to get the lead and it worked. I would have liked to see us get more aggressive early. Hard to play from behind against an anti-hockey team with a stud goalie.

Which is why it is important to take the lead and make them open up their game.

Hmmm, I thought the "NEW NHL" got rid of that with the rule changes. Can't use the trap excuse now my friend.

Brodeur should change his name for Wall
I have the impression im playing NHL 06, when game always ends like 3-0 for the other team even if I shot 60 times on their freakinn goaltender
