Jersey Giveaway Question

I have gone to the last Ranger home game for the past 2 years and after the game, every Ranger player gives their jersey to a fan and signs it. Was this just because they were not in the playoffs? Or will they do it again this year (i am going again)?

I'm pretty sure only non-playoff teams do this.

They should do it again. I know the Isles have been doing it the last several years and they were in the playoffs. No reason the Rangers shouldn't do again.

They didn't give away their shirts because they didn't make the playoffs, they wear a new shirt for that game and give them away, and not all teams do this, this is "Fan Appreciation"

Most teams do a giveaway at the last home game. It has become a very popular promotion around the league. Generally this is a one-game jersey and shows little wear. It's great for fans but of lesser interest to serious collectors and the resale aftermarket. The Wild are doing it here on Tuesday night and I expect the Rangers will do liewise.

I think one year Steve Mckenna's jersey went to some little kid and that was hilarious. Anyway my wife and I are going to be in New York on the 17th, 18th and 19th and we have tickets to the game so I'm hoping that they do.

I don't see any reason why the "Blueshirts Off Our Backs" ceremony wouldn't be held this year, especially after the bond this team has formed with the Garden faithful. Should be a good time.
