Here's The Deal For the remaining 5 games

I see the Habs splitting with Buffalo, exacting revenge on the Devils, defeating the Bruins again, and perhaps losing to Ottawa on Monday (I hope they win, but can they beat the Sens twice in a row?).

From here on in all that has to happen is for the Habs to win 2 of their remaining 5 games and Atlanta needs to lose one of their 5 games. This will eliminate the Thrashers and the Leafs (of course). The game we will all be watching closely is the Thrashers @ Tampa game. I say 93 points get's us in anyways.

The Devils have a tough schedule as they play NYR, Canes, Flyers their next three games. Not exactly a walk in the park. Habs still have a shot at 6th.

heres what i can see:

April 10 vs Ottawa - Win
April 12 at Buffalo - Loss
April 13 at Boston - Win
April 15 vs Buffalo - Win
April 18 vs New Jersey - Win(if it counts, if not maybe)

NJ dont have it so easy so anything is still possible:

Sun. 9 NY Rangers
Tue. 11 at Carolina
Thu. 13 Philadelphia
Sun. 16 Philadelphia
Tue. 18 at Montreal

Very bold to end our season on a 3 game win streak. I hope you're right. That Ottawa game on Monday worries me. And for some reason Boston worries me. You'de think they have to win sometime against us especially with the way Thomas plays against us to keep them in the game. If we win Monday then it will offset a potential loss to Boston.

I just want us to clinch a playoffs spot ASAP so let's win the next 2 games (and hope that ATL loses one)!

You guys really need a combination of 5 points to eliminate the Thrashers. If you win 2 and Atlanta wins 5 more, they would have the tiebreaker in wins 43-42. I think you guys are ready for a big losing streak. Ottawa win want revenge and they are playing for the #1 seed. Buffalo has beat Ottawa twice recently. Even Boston has played pretty well recently, despite losing. I'd like to see it come down to that final NJ @ MTL game with the winner making the playoffs along with the Thrashers. Good luck.

Lets just get in. Remember a few weeks back and everything was so close and we were in 9th. Now we are discussing what playoff spot we want. We have come a long way.

Ya but you are basising this on the 5 thrasher wins which will not be a walk in the park.

Carolina right now are struggling. Gerber has been allowing a lot of goals even in wins. 7th isnt the end of the world.

No 7th or 8th is not the end. Bottom line is we need to make the playoffs. Our ultimate goal is the Stanley Cup, and to win the cup you need to beat the best team wether or not you face them in the first round or the third round.

agreed man, and with both the canes and sens playing mediocre hockey as of late i rather play them in the first round while they're still relatively unhealthy.

i don't trust the tampa bay's of the world to upset the canes or sens. leave the task to us, we can do it! but i'd rather face the rags/flyers.

Look at it this way. If we can beat Ottawa/Carolina than we have a chance to play the Rags/Flyers in the next round.

If we play the rags/flyers in the first round than we would most likly play OTT / CAR in the 2nd round.

So this is all in our plans to win the cup. Start off hard and cruise our way after that. Well cruise might not be the right word.

It doesn't matter which team we are going to face we just need to be on a roll when the playoff comes. If things click all together and our best players are at there best I don't care who will be our opponent. Imagine Kovalev playing like the comeback game he had against the Sens, Koivu & Streit like they did at the olympics, Zednik like 2 years ago, Perez like he did last year in Russia, Bulis like he did against Phillis, Ribeiro like if his life and Dagenais are on line, Huet at his best and etc. We'll be unstopable.

hahahhhahaha
"WHAT BOB? IF I DONT SCORE I'LL LOSE PIERRE?!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" after understanding the predicament he was in, Mike Ribeiro scored 6 goals and tallied 11 assists in the opening round of the playoffs making him the number one scorer in the NHL.

Read my thread opener. I said Habs need to win 2 games and Atlanta needs to lose one game in the last 5. Do you really think Atlanta will go 5-0 to close out the year? No. Atlanta will be out. Habs WILL win at least two games.

With Chara, Reden, Havlat, Volchenkov and Hasek back for the playoffs No one and I mean NO ONE is going to stop us. Bring it on!!!! Man I can't wait this is going to be fun. If I have to choose between NJD, TBL and MTL give me MTL any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Oh yeah I forgot you might not make the playoffs. oh well........

I had similar ideas about the sched. I DO believe that is the worst that can happen. You gotta believe that, at the very least, the Habs split each of the two game series vs Ottawa (already won game one), vs Buffalo, and NJD (lost one so far). And they'll continue they're dominance over Boston (cross our fingers).

All along I thought it would take 91 to get in. Probably 93 will be necessary now as it looks today. You have to admire NJ,TB,Mtl.Atl, even the Leafs, no one is blinking.

What is it with you Habs fans?

Or maybe I should say......Spuds?

Don't think that we're not on to you. swaggering
around, trying to intimidate the Sens with your
vaunted "potato power"

We do not fear you.

We laugh at you and your potatos!

Monday night, you will be hash browns.
