One point away

Elimination is not certain -- the team is not mathematically out yet.

But if they lose one more point, they're mathematically done. At this moment, they COULD finish as high as seventh, IF Edmonton loses out AND Vancouver and San Jose split their two games (in regulation) and lose all their others AND the Kings win out. That would give all four teams 91 points, and the Kings would take seventh on the Wins tiebreaker.

If the Kings lose a single point, they're done.

(Don't get me wrong -- I'm not saying I'm still holding out hope. I'm just crunching the numbers. I expect that one point to be lost soon)

I guess i'll answer it. Every team above us would have to lose 90% of their remaining games. We also can't control destiny becuase we're really not playing those teams.
Siamo finiti! We're finished dude! No passion equals no results! Let's just look forward to June 24th.

Edmonton's remaining schedule is possible for them to lose out IF they lose to St. Louis tonight, that is there only breather game. Other then that Detroit, Anaheim and Colorado are three very hard games to finish the season.

But even if that happens no way the Kings have the heart to be taking the spot.

Also there is no possible way the Sharks lose out, period, unless the entire team goes down in a terrible plane crash... So it might be better to root for San Jose to win both Vancouver games and have Vancouver lose out and hope San Jose and the Kings make the final 2 spots.

That said NONE OF THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

On the Jumbotron, George Parros said he'd like to vacation on the Greek Isles... I figure he can get a 9am flight a week from today.

Based on the last few games it seems most of them got golf on their mind already.

Props to actually making it sound possible. Unfortunately the Kings aren't capable of winning 1 let alone their last 3 games.

Nothing I've seen in the last three years makes me think the Kings have that kind of luck.

And nothing I've seen in the last 2 months makes me think the Kings have that kind of desire.

4/11/2006 - Kings can be eliminated if Edmontron wins or ties

If any of you are curious, and I don't know if you are, but tomorrow, 4/11/2006, if Edmonton either wins or ties, we are mathematically eliminated. Edmonton needs to get 1 point in the remaining 3 games to eliminate us.

It also appears that 92 points will be the magic number to get into playoffs this year, not 95.

It should be greater than 92. You're assuming that all teams, Edmonton, particularly, will stop accumulating points after the Kings are eliminated. Each team still has 3-4 games left. It still looks like 94/95 will be what gets it done.

So basically, Edmonton has to lose every game they have left, Vancouver has to lose all but one and the Kings have to win every one.

Yes. Highly likely. Not yet mathematically impossible.

So, if Detroit wins in regulation tonight, that makes Thursday's game against Phoenix the first actual and true "must win" game of the season.

What the ****...I've got nothing better to do...let's count it off...see just how close they can come.

Vancouver: San Jose, San Jose, Colorado-can win one
Edmonton: Detroit, Anaheim, Colorado-must lose all

And LA: Phoenix, Calgary, San Jose-must win all

I guess this is a shortened, more immediate version of Albi's old Playoff Race chart.

I can see Vancouver losing every game they have left...I can even potentially see Edmonton doing it. The Kings winning all of theirs is the biggest long shot.

But I still find this exciting...it's going to be a fun waiting game...I don't know...it just feels like this race is going to get a little more interesting for the Kings before its over.

Edmonton must lose every game in regulation.

I know.

The only team I think might have trouble beating Edmonton in Reg is Colorado.
